No, the Su-35S would mollywhop a F-4.
I assumed it was hyperbolic but the more I hear ppl talk about the 35S the more it seems like a brick, might just stick to the J11B and 27SM for duels atp xd
Definitely the J11BG(H) will be my go to with the ws10bs
For dogfights I would recommend that, Su-35S is about as heavy as the SM2, just less draggy.
The J11BG/H will probably be very good, should be lighter then the J11B with quite a bit stronger engines as well, maybe I’ll change my hype to that instead lol
I’m pretty sure the BG/H is the same as the B but with an AESA radar
I know the J-11D was lighter with stronger engines.
It’s a shame, the Su-35S is so heavy, We know Gaijin’s just gonna butcher it. :p
Only 6 arh hardpoints will really hurt it and only PL-15s, PL-12s iirc, no PL-17 depending on its br placement could be good or bad and just be don’t have high expectations for anything.
I’m quite confident it will fly just like the SM2, so not a turbo FM but still pretty decent.
Reviewing the drag profile would be nice to see if it can squeeze out a tiny bit more acceleration, but I don’t exactly trust the lazy ass devs to do this.
Unfortunately, once again the SM2 robbed the hype out of the Su35 by having the AL-41’s.
Yeah and according to some people on the forums, the maneuverability of the TVC Flankers is… not up to par.
Personally I’m keen to agree with them, they feel very boat-ish, even when using TVC.
It very much worries me for how Gaijin will model the Su-57.

In the sino flanker forum thread there’s a lot more info on the BG/H, some early ones had the WS10A but the WS10B is standard, in particular the WS-10B series 3
Still not as light as the J11D but a lot of the research from that went to the BG/H
I mean, you’ve seen what Su-35S can do on airshows. And even with min fuel on SM2 you’d probably never do something like that in War Thunder. Moreover if you consider that despite all our “Russian Bias witness” people say, jets don’t run min fuel on airshows, it’s stupidly dangerous if anything goes wrong
It just feels very sluggish.
Sometimes it feels like all the momentum I’ve built up just vanishes when I give it the slightest bit of rudder.
I dunno, maybe it’s just the Instructor, but trying to do a Kvochurs bell in the Su-30SM felt impossible.
Even in the SM2 it refuses to complete the turn smoothly, you can see the Rudders acting a fool, and the plane just stops rotating at some points.
Here is Su-30SM on an airshow, with good old AL-31FPs. (interesting thing is that announcer says that it is around 2 tons heavier than Su-27, but obviously it’s not very thrustworthy source)
Oh ye, the tvc looks a lot more controllable in the airshow footage compared to in game, can’t tell if they’re bleeding the same amount of speed though when not in aoa mode.

to be honest, I dont even remember the last time I lost a dogfight using the SM2, its a pretty impressive aircraft, considering its weight and size, I also like to dog at higher altitudes so I can use TVC more freely, as the altitude increases, the flanker will have more of an advantage
