Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 3)

I recently found out about this. Apparently it’s called Su-35UB, and it’s meant to be a trainer for the Su-35(S?).

Supposedly only one was built, it looks weird compared to other Su-30s and Twin Seat Flankers but I can’t put my finger on why.

For Su-27M (Su-35) from my understanding. You can see canards and large tail with flat tips.

Makes sense. I also found this pic of it which shows the Canards.

CM-102? I have a sneaking suspicion that it was designed in R-77 dimensions, but can’t prove it

isnt this pretty much just a early Su-30MKI/SM?

Well, lineage wise it technically isn’t. It is a trainer version of a Su-27M, aka Su-35 for export.
Actually disregard that, after checking the development history - it was made in 2000s and supposed to be the best of both worlds - canards and avionics from MKI and bigger tail from Su-27M or Su-30MKK and better engines in the future
Tho this technically literally makes it a dual seater a bit more advanced version Su-27M

Hmm a tgp view that feeds into the MFD? Is this finally opening the road for an IRST that does the same :)

(for a future flanker that is)

I really wish the TacNav was in a bit higher quality.

it looks a lot more informative than in WT.

they only gonna add it for the Su-35 now

MiGs are still there as well

they arent even bothering to look at my bug reports for the fulcrum anymore, that TV+IR display is never coming since they probably cant be bothered to model it

Making MiG-29 not fly like a brick exhausted all of the accumulated goodwill towards Fulcrums, gaijin even had to compensate by stealing R-27s from KR to break even

How much did it cost for a good FM and 64cms instead of 32cms?
