Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 3)

Hello everyone
Looking at the radar database, among those with a positioner, only the N011R(M) and N035 have their ESA update scan (the effective range of TWS ESA) restricted to the values of those without a positioner. The N011 is limited to 90 degrees (±45°), and the N035 to 120 degrees (±60°). The Eurofighter’s ECRS and Gripen’s ES-05 are not subject to this limitation.

I posted a report
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/1u4PRwXQui2m

Did anyone else notice that after the addition of the Su-30SM2, Gaijin removed the 5% emergencial thrust from the Su-30SM?

@ron_23

i can tell you why

it is bc of the spaghetti code
gaijin is not able or willing to code that in for the EF or Gripen because they have a scan pattern that covers the full azimuth

Many planes should already have this as of now so i would not count on that

its not necessarily about getting that MFD page for WT (would be nice tho)
but more about having the TGP like view
which is currently missing on the Mig-29M and Mig-29KR for example

do you know what that paint job on the R-77 is supposed to mean?

maybe it could be some sort of trainer/test missile? Here is the same type on a MiG

i also saw some footage of a orange Kh-38 being launched from a Su-34 so i dont think its a completely inert missile

Meant what Ron said above, no other flanker has a camera view of its IRST, so, might not be as useful as one might think, but better than not having it.

Ah I see. Would they be able to guide weaponry through this sensor ? That’s one of the reaqson why you don’t have to take the TGP on the rafale for example even when using LGBs
I would love for the render distances to be better when using the camera since it would allow far easier target recognition

yes the Mig-29M and 29KR are able to guide laser guided weapons with the IRST

maybe only the red parts are inert

so those might only have an inert warhead?

it’s a training missile, that’s what bbcrf said if yk him. He’s some sukhoi tech i think

Are the Flankers known to have issues with Bearings? The mechanical kind

Some guy was telling me that that do, he specified Su-30s and Su-34s, but didn’t specify further than that.
