They really have to put a nametag on them for us peasants lmao, or else it’s forever mistery.
Well the Su-35 is 19t empty and the thrust should amount to a total of 29k kgf.
Though empty weight is not the relevant number, and you should look at the combat ready weight, which if I’m not mistaken should be around 25t, correct me if wrong here.
25.3, close enough lmao.

Will the Su35 have better performance over the su30sm2 but only marginally? What about low speed performance
With how the SM2 is in the game, the Su-35S will just get a MAWS (I think?) and no canards therefore less drag. That’s all I think.
Unless they decide to add it with new missiles which would in fact make sense
Su35 drag should be slightly lower due to having no canards, but likely marginal.
One thing it will be better at is top speed, whereas the SM2 stops at 2.10 basically.
Weight difference is about 200kg empty, so not drastic, I’d expect both to perform similarly, maybe a bit more stability on the sm2 with canard help.
Kinda, off the top of my head the differences will be:
- Less countermeasures (not by much)
- Possibly worse RWR coverage
- A usable IRST that should feed into the MFD’s
- MAW and LWR
- cool airbrake mechanic (kinda like Rafale/Super Hornet)
- up to 4 ET’s in theory
Honorable mention:
- no complaints for dual R-77s
no it is the same
yes
yes by turning both the rudders inwards
also in practice
you can see the Su-35 in the lead carrying it on the inner most wing pylon and the Su-35 in the back on the normal 27et pylon
Gaijin didn’t even add it to the MiG-29KR, I wouldn’t hold my breath on the Su-35 getting it
True, but if the SM2 spherical report goes trough it’ll be worse (in vertical coverage)
Ah nice, I only saw the missile layout on paper, but visual confirmation is indeed better.
i dont see that report getting acted on anytime soon
it will just sit around accepted forever
I’m running out of hopium.
Maybe you’re right.
Which one is it? Quite a few closed ones, can’t find that one.
Wreck footage is out btw, but it’s so unbearably low quality that it makes a 1930 movie look like 8K.
Does anyone have pictures of Soviet flankers outfitted with R-27ETs? I may not be looking hard enough but I can’t find any on them.
probably one of those weird drones we’ve seen before they have a uniquely bad camera
Ah, thanks
Basically the SM2 (at least going from what it is said in the report) has 2 little knobs, one behind the the canopy andthe other under the nose.
It’s hard to prove if those specific knobs are for the RWR, but if they are then their coverage would eliminate the blindspot issue, thing is those extra knobs are not on the Su35.
I know the antenna’s, just was looking for what information the accepted report had
