Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 3)

Wtf?

So this thing has the highest CM count of the Flanker family? I thought the SM2 and its 112 was gonna be the highest we would see

Jesus, one thing I wasn’t looking forward to on the Su35 was the 80~ CM’s, but this is quite the gamechanger.

unforunately, it seems like su-34 and su-35 are the only planes that use uv-5. Su-30mk variants like the sm, mkk, mk2, etc all use UV-30mk which aren’t interchangable with UV-5.

I dont think those thing at the edges are “cm dispensors” but rather just a metal panel

Its also a very bad placement for those dispensors as they would damage the vertical stabs

But we still have the dispensors with xtra large, large and normal countermeasure options from that patent

There is a case of SM2 as well. Webpage says about 98 countermeasures max, while latest SM2 has one more dispenser installed. There is a probability that at least SM2 uses UV-5 as well (and maybe SM for standardisation sake, while UV-30MK only installed on export versions, hence the name)

@kizvy too
those are service access points, they aren’t CM dispensers.
there are many such points throughout the plane.
considering they aren’t painted over - they are likely tied to engine

Holy, so close

source?

There is also stabiliser hydraulics right in the tail near that place, so it might also give access to it as well.

Due to amraam’s clips design you couldn’t fit more than 4 aim-120A/B on internal bay.

With Aim-120C capacity increased to 6 Fox-3 missiles.

ive seen some people say this over the years but ive never seen any actual evidence of this, the f22 went into service after the aim120c

yet the YF-22 (which had a weapons bay as per ATF requirements) flew in 1991. and the first actual F-22 flew in 1997

I got scammed again by low quality images

You’re forgetting initial design phase and first fly date.

When F-22 flew for the first time Aim-120C wasn’t deployed.

The Su-27S’s radar can be slaved via HMD, right? Some guy was telling me they couldn’t.

Lore accurate Russian intercept.

A clip I got of a friend (SenseiBruh, F-2A) and I (Su-27S) from his stream.

I’ll probably use this when I post my skin later.

makes sense, still i doubt we’ll get a historical loadout yf-23, cause that would mean its going to fight significantly worse aircraft because it wouldnt have the weapon’s to fight more modern aircraft.

imagine playing 7 battles in a week
