Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 3)

Out of the images I saw I sometimes struggled to differentiate between a Su-34 or 35, because what was left was either carbonized or hard to recognize in general.

I know almost for sure that there’s one very clear image of the Su-35 shot by the F-16 (or mirage not sure).

It was f16 with awacs cover

That was by a patriot

Heads or tails ahh moment

That pancaked su35 wreck was originally claimed f16’s kill by AviVector(which was then taken on by many journalists and youtubers)

Later he clarified it was by a patriot not a f16

Ok your description checks out with the image I had in mind.

Thanks for clarifying then.

I think su-35 should be more than one air loss but I think we’ll only ever know after conflict end

I think so too, I hardly trust both sides when it comes to losses, so only time will tell I guess.

We’re are talking only air to air records.
Not ground destroyed included

If it’s only air to air records then su35s hasn’t been downed yet

I suppose you’re right in that regard since UA only confirmed one by their f16

Have any of them been destroyed on the ground?

The airfield losses have been quite significant in general, from what I could see. Even heavy planes and bombers.

I think airfield vulnerability was quite evident.

I think a few damaged, don’t recall anything about destroyed outright by arson or drones

There is a question about fate of one Su-35 that spilled fuel on Spy Drone.

This one?

Yeah

Wasn’t this just a su27?
