Could be an option, even though if the EX and 35 dropped next patch I doubt the EX would have the D3, since they just added the D last update, maybe that can be a thing for the december patch or even later.
My best guess is that new gen IR’s are planned for a month from now, but new ARH, I doubt it.
These damn map devs, I doubt they even play their own game. The GRB situation is literally unhealthy. The Air RB, although a little better, isn’t in good shape either. We urgently need maps the size of the nuclear map, maps with 150-200km+ for Air RB, new missiles. Although the meta has changed a lot since 2024, the overall gameplay hasn’t changed much. Climb high or fly low, fire some Fox 3 and wait for it to be lost to a single chaff. As for the GRB, I’ve already talked too much, I don’t even need to comment; that thing is an abyssal creature.
I think tracking here means tracking with IRST itself, you know, good old lock. i dunno the exact sensitivity of such IRST sensors, technically it should be able to lock something like a tank with running engine (R-60M can be used against ground targets IRL), question is at what range
The only declared improvements are radar range and weapons integration. None of this requires the installation of the N035. Upgrading the Bars is sufficient.
Oh yeah I know that. The original post you replied to earlier was made with spoons full of sarcasm. Glad to see someone else have the same info/arrived to the same conclusion a few of us on here arrived to as well.
does Russia use the normal R-77 in any meaningful numbers? i remember reading they never adopted in any large numbers and i have this one photo of an Su-27SM armed with either an R-77 or R-77-1 from post 2022 (Photo quality to low to ID which one it is)
Nope, R-77 production was based in Ukraine by most part. Russia produces only R-77-1 for domestic use and only RVV-AE for export (if it is even produced nowadays)
looks like a normal Su-27SM judging by the lack of the extra antenna between the canopy and air brake found on the SM3, and its not an Su-35S since it has the older vertical stabilizers and pitot tube on the radome
Well, you asked about meaningfull numbers, aren’t you? There is a probability that some of the remaining 27SMs are armed with lefrover R-77s, but those aren’t gonna last forever, missiles have rather limited life when installed on pylons
