there is no way its gonne be a event. the only problem i can see its that its br is hard to balance.
on one side you can place it at 12.7 with r33 / r40 / r60. ( who can be op )
on the other side you can place it at 13.3 with r33 / r77 / r73 ( or 13.7 with 77-1 )
i stoped playing war thunder for a nearly a month and i come back to still see that gaijin is ruining top tier ( mostly ground ) with their animale cage size map. i hate it and i dont know how i enjoyed top tier for this much time
I think there will be no Mig 31 variant at 13.3 or 13.7 because those variants which can carry r77s(though I haven’t seen any deployed with them) will be able to carry r37m as well which would put it above 14.0.
Can have Mig31K as event vehicle though
I can see gaijin nerfing the 31bm to only 77 for a better balance.
With R-37M in stock it wouldn’t be a nerf at all. Fakour-90 but it can go Mach 6 (and maybe AESA seeker as well)

There is 3 variant. Although i know gaijin wont do that, its the best to add it with r33 and 77 at 13.3/7
If the 37m ever comes, i can see it at top br. Or even right before the top br as flanker can carry more.
It might be the best “balance-wise” but this will be the biggest robbery of the century. MiG-31BM is pretty much famous because of R-37M, it would be like removing MICA from a Rafale and placing it at 13.0 with only Magic 2s

As for me, i see and i know it for its powerful radar and speed. Specially the r33. Yes the 37m is goated but where are you gonna enjoy lower br bvr sarhm r33 ?
None of us want to enjoy it while stock grinding it at top tier.
In smaller word, r33 deserve to be loved in the right br.
Plus there is no problem having a older BM or B model at a lower br with only r33. Kinda like the 29 9.12 and 9.13 situation
I’m not sure you gonna enjoy R-33 chief. It outperforms R-27ER only at MiG-31 operating altitude and speed, which is very problematic to achieve in ARB.
They will definitely add more than one mig 31 variant, we can have mig 31, mig 31bm, mig 31bsm, mig 31k and a few others which can be distributed among tech tree and event/battlepass variants and their brs will be adjusted according to their capabilities.
BM and BSM only differ in a refuelling probe. MiG-31K is completely useless in WT. Only plausible versions that can be playable and will actually bring something to the table are MiG-31B, MiG-31BM and, if gaijin is brave enough, MiG-31M
I dont know how realistic it is (probably not at all) but the r33 when modded in dcs was pretty much worse than r27er at most common altitudes
It is pretty realistic from what I gathered. Su-27 was initially planned to be capable of carrying 2 belly mounted R-33s, but tests showed that R-27ER was superior on all altitude and speed ranges available to Su-27, which, as well as the fact that R-33 will require a separate seeker head to be compatible with N001, put an end to this idea
R-33 is probably better at super high altitudes, as well as above Mach 2.5 speeds that are available to MiG-31.

Partially. Some of the models can do interceptor roles. Main classification for both, however, is a frontline fighter

I also stop and come back, and I stopped playing GRB. I played a little recently, but GRB is complete garbage because of Gaijin’s garbage maps. The map development team should be condemned to death. GRB is total trash, that’s why I only play Air RB.
