conditions: flying at 1200km/h 7km alt, headon target 70km distance.
The -1 is vastly superior for distances under 50km, whereas the 120D is superior beyond that and the pl12a is a mix of the two, as it stands the 12a is the best all rounder in the game rn
In terms of aerodynamic philosophy, the 120 functions exactly as designed, an envelope with a higher probability of eliminating a target at long range, though “higher” does not necessarily mean “good”

December update will either be very rough or very good, hopefully gaijin lays down the foundations for 5th gej air combat by adding the Su-35 and remaining 4.5 gens, and some advanced mechanics like team datalink

technologically speaking, the 35 isnt better, true, but for me, su35 is still ideal, at least in terms of how its supposed to work, I’d prefer an su35 over an f15ex, just as today I prefer an sm2 over a j16
Full year late to the SM2 ? And for what likely to get the same loadout … It will be DOA especially given there are high chances Gaijin brings 5th gen next update. Even if they do it for the new year update that would still leave you a very short time to enjoy the Su-35S before 5th gen makes it to the game.
i think they will add it with r77m or r37m.
current meta is all about acceleration and max speed, SU-35 will not be a very big difference comparing to sm2. It will bring some nice additions like MAWS and better RWR.
No idea about gaijin logics. In terms of flight performance sm2 is the worst top tier jet for now (comparing to 15ex\ef2k\rafaele\j-16)
If You look back, most of USSR top tier vehicles arriving DOA, the only tech tree that was supprerior is Heli
Plus, i want to say it again - current sm2 doesen’t exist. Literally there is no sm2 with al-41 in Russian Air forces
Highly doubt we will see those missiles before 5th gen , if that was the case we would had seen them already. The only thing that allow to survive on thin copium is this pic here which looks like an R-33 mockup. So maybe there is a chance they pull an early MiG-31A with R-33 on 1st or 2nd dev .

All Im looking for is a better overall flight envelope and higher top speed at high altitudes, which is exactly what su35 offers, given how the game works, you’d be looking at an aerodynamic upgrade of about 10, 15%, thats actually quite significant, especially considering you want that extra speed to launch a missile from, say, 5 to 10 km further out than your opponent, right?
and no aircraft in the game has the capability to remain offensive while flying cold or performing defensive circles like sm2, In the hands of someone who knows how to use it well, it is a formidable dueling machine

What i meant is that SU-35 now will not make any drammatic improvement. It will be just a bit better overall comparing to sm2. So for me it’s kinda dumb they’re not adding it on par with 15ex

Nope doesnt look remotely close to BUK family of missiles ( they have much longer fixed fins ) .
Its a bad or mediocre update; the next one is the one that truly deserves some effort
all the marketing was focused on the star of the update, even the title suggests as much, it was all centered on the f15ex
su-35 being heavier than su30sm2 + more fuel capacity will likely mena it will have worse flight performance
