i dont see it too critical
each MH they are testing some stuff for the combat
in world it was the clutch claw and the enviorment
in rise it was the wire bugs and humming birds
and in Wilds it is the Focus mode and the completly open world

For me the problem is fundamental. Gen 5 hunters evolved more than monsters did. If you look at older games - Monsters and Hunters have equally tanky and unwieldy controls for player and for a monster. Combat was a test of your ability to control a character and understanding of enemy attack patterns. In Gen 5 you have way to many ways to simply nulify anything a monster can do to you without having to think even. This is what i dislike about Gen 5 combat the most. This didn’t stop me from spending almost 400 hours in World and half of that in Rise, but i spent way more time playing GenU and 4U on my hand helds
well you are just being used to the clunky nature of the hand helds
but what your complaint is about more about legacy monsters ported to gen 5
gen 5 monsters could be made with the new mechnics in mind
more so than the older reappering monsters
Not really, a lot of ported monsters recieved significant changes (and there are some very lazily made Gen 5 ones).
Controls arent as clunky. And the point is not the clunkiness, it’s the equality. I want Hunters and Monsters to have equal capabilities, but for some reason, Gen 5 monsters simply can’t keep up (probably to not make a game to unbearable for the newcomers). Honestly it’s in the same spirit as gaijin way of balancing War Thunder. I like Gen 5 combat, really do, but i also want to be threatened by the monsters, not bein pampered.
iam a newcomer to MH with 5th gen so i cant talk too much of how it was before
but i see the MH World basegame more or less as a tutorial for Iceborn
and then the monsters get alot stronger in Iceborn
Yeah, they did a good job with turning game up a notch to equalise the footing between hunters and monsters… and then they did the stupidest thing in the world and bloated HP values. This is the worst way to balance a game and led to an absolute dominance of DPS builds simply because nobody wants to hunt something for 30 minutes
in rise and gu the gunlance also doubles as a rocket
i absolutely love the weapon and armor design, but the combat is not for me, way too fast and i kind of hate focus mode that caused the entire combat to shift from positioning to reaction based and monsters to get insanely crazy in the endgame.
You can see that the same guy worked on both of them isn’t it? Ichinose really knows how to make a fun combat system
capcom is the goat what else to say
Funny how all my favourite monsters come from games that Ichinose directed. Valstrax, Malzeno (especially Primordial one), Fated Four, Barioth…
Ok, now i want a Malzeno style livery for MiG-35
my favourite has been tigrex ever since he gave me an heart attack on that mountain as a kid
Tiggy is cool, i do like him. But Barioth is my favourite Pseudowyvern in the franchise
nothing goes over the eating fast and eating for free build
Does the Su-34 actually have a rear facing radar? Or is the long ahh tail just for balance?
it has an APU in there
and extra fuel
more fuel, it was either that of the usual neck hump
bro needs more fuel, bigger fuel tanks
