Su-35SM is (was) actually a thing a while ago.
it was a temporary designation given to first four Su-35S produced in 2016 by a new contract.
It was first batch of Su-35S to be tested with R-37M.

there are Su-35S in Naval aviation? I thought they only have Su-30s
Now that you point it out it is a little weird.
Afaik the Navy doesn’t use Su-35S, but he is in the Orange Flightsuit, and looking at the back of the cockpit it doesn’t look like there’s space for a second seat judging from the bar behind the seat.
vs the Su-30 where the bar is basically directly above the Pilots seat.
