Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 2)

thats why su27m 710 would be better, if i remember right that one tested al41

AL-41F won’t fit inside Su-27. It was designed for MiG-1.44 project. Size was one of the main reasons for creating AL-41F1 that would fit Su-35S and Su-57 airframe.

double checked and yeah it seems to be tested with al41f1

Anyone know performance of n011 vs n011m?

Performance wise I can’t say much, N011 was barely used domestically, but technology wise it is N001 with Cassergain dish replaced with slotted planar array and additional air to ground bypass channel added. It seems also have some upgrades to the internals as well, most prominently 4 DL channels for Air to Air weaponry. Other than this there’s barely any info about it, T-10M program (aka Su-27M) was tested with N011M already, base version was only proposed for original Su-30 project that didn’t really took off due to budget constraints at that time.

n011 at least from what I can tell was put on early su-27m air frames, and n011m was only used from 711 onwards. n011 seems to be fairly similar to the zhuk of the mig 29 just scaled up.

Wikipedia says that it was 712 that was used for N011 tests. But it’s probably safe to assume that 711 got it as well during the time of being Su-37 demonstrator. Shame that 711 crashed afterwards.

I’m getting the info from this book which gaijin accepts for bug reports

I think you mean n011m not n011

Yeah, capability wise looks like scaled up version of N010. Man, I hope we will get Su-27M in some form in-game even if it will be a sidegrade to 27SM at best

I’m gonna put in a suggestion for 710, with n011 radar and al41f1 engine. Would be pretty good in game

Wikipedia specifically says N011 but I wouldn’t trust it with specifics. A lot of sources often confuse N011 and N011M with each other.

My book says SPECIFICALLY n011m was first used on 711 and 712. other su27m used n011

With AL-41 it would be interesting unit for sure. With AL-31 however it will be just worse version of Su-30SM because 27M airframe is even heavier than already heavy 30SM

I would believe your book as well, definitely more thrust worthy than Wikipedia. I also think I have this book on pdf stored somewhere, gotta read it as well.

Maybe BBCRF would be able to confirm if the engine in the image I sent was indeed an AL-41

"First Three test specimens were built, the first of which was ready ground tests in 1994. Thanks to China’s order for several Su-27s with AL-31F engines, there was enough money to test the remaining two engines on the Su-37 demonstration aircraft (prototype designation T-10M-11, No. 711). They were installed in 1995. Main flight test program took place in the area of Zhukovsky airport - first part (46 flights) was carried out between 2 April and 28 August 1996, part two It was completed at the end of the same year.

For The expansion of the AL-37FU engines is also evidenced by the fact that they are designed so that they can replace the AL-31F engines of the existing Su-27 series aircraft. However, so far they are practically usable only on Su-30MK aircraft (the aircraft and engine were first presented at the Paris Rally 1999 Air Show) and the already mentioned Su-37."

Here another page; Sukhoi Su-30 story in colours. Sukhoi Su-30 fighter worldwide camouflage and painting schemes. Prototypes, experimental planes, variants, serial and licensed production, deliveries, units, numbers. Russia, India, China, Malaysia, Venezuela, Belarus, Ukraine, Algeria, Vietnam, Eritrea, Angola, Uganda That state that they were use and tested.

Here another Su-37: initially a strike aircraft project, later transformed into a thrust-vectoring fighter – RuAviation With praise by the test pilot to the engine.
As far i know. The engine were tested for the whole life time. And them remove. The plane still could perform maneuvers.

Where are those quotes are taken from? If you have a source I would love to read it because all the info I found specifically states that Su-37 used AL-31FP engines. Well at least every single Russian source.
