Pretty much. I’ve said this before, but this is current “gentleman kit” for Su-35S on the frontlines. Missile for every range, as well as single Kh-31 in case someone will forget to disable radar on that fancy Patriot (or any othe SAM site really)

They could’ve switch to much better engine years ago but instead they decided to stuck with dagor engine.

Wouldn’t be surprised.
With that being said, I don’t think the game engine is the main issue with War Thunder, Dagor does really well with things like physics simulations.
Instead it’s just how the game is designed. ARB hasn’t changed since it came out, the maps have only gotten bigger.
For lower tiers (reserve - 10.0ish) the game is fine, but with modern tech like ESA radars and long range Fox-3s, the game mode designed for prop planes doesn’t really work super well.
I’m not so sure, dagor cannot even handle real time calculate when it comes to physics on airplanes, shells or airflow properly.
You still need to update engine from time to time. And introduce new code. If i understand correctly tanks are still planes on the ground from game engine point of view

I agree, especially for things which rely on FBW (cough cough F-16 cough cough)
They also have glorious servers that struggle with calculations when there is a big load, TVC missiles is the prime example
