I studied French in school.
For a Russian speaker, the funniest phrases in French are:
“Owl hunt” - Chasse au hibou
“Dance floor” - piste de danse
“Porthole” - hublot
They sound similar to all sorts of funny, nasty things in Russian.
BTW, it didn’t seem like a simple “uh, so we have an 8-letter word, we don’t read the first 2 and the last 4. We read the 2 in the middle.”
