this is real figure

nope 15-20m is minimal frontal rcs

First off, please give numbers in m² and not m, it’s incorrect and triggers me.
Then, can you provide a source for that? 1000m² is, like, really big… That’s 10% of a hectare, do you see how much that is?

you are misunderstanding the RCS term, which has nothing to do with geometric area

Ah nevermind, I confused with RES. But then 1000m is way worse, where in the world do you pull that from

what is res?
i mean radar cross section

1000m2

Radar Equivalent Surface, not sure that’s how you say it in english.

I’m starting to be really confused, I’m just gonna research further because I now realize I don’t really know how RCS is calculated

Ok so from what I checked, this does in fact have to do with surfaces, as the RCS is a way of associating the radar return of an object to that of a perfectly reflecting sphere, where the RCS value is equivalent to the cross section surface of that sphere. If that definition is correct, then we are in fact talking about a sphere of width 30m which is absolutely enormous.

yes, because sphere is best low rcs form
btw i checked my old sources and i will reup numbers
mid rcs of su27 with some missiles is 300-400m2, but peaks up to 32000m2

I’m not certain, but it seems like quite the opposite to me, a sphere reflects a significant part of the radiation back to where it comes from. That’s also what many websites seem to claim

That’s absolutely gigantic, but fully loaded I can maybe see that with some resonance now that I think about it… Could you show your sources? I’m curious

compare to other geometrical figures the same height , width
sphere has same rcs value at all directions, this is the first postulate of stealth tecnology

Ngl from this angle the rafale and su30 might be some of the best looking aircrafts.

Rafale from this angle looks like an Su-30 that licked a lemon

Hey.

No words for my beloved Rafale.

Not really though, stealth aircraft often put an incentive on front/side aspect, it’s the entire purpose of the edges that “cut” the planes in half horizontally.
A sphere has a consequent radar return because it presents a perpendicular surface no matter where you look at it from. On the other hand, stealth aircraft are designed to have no perpendicular surface from most aspects, instead they deflect radiations with very sloped surfaces

Bullpups your Su-30.
