Im honestly surprised they went by the plan MAXIMUM. I could get the AL-41 (new engines would come in handy) and, at best, updated SM1 radar with greater range (not much use in game), but also giving it Irbis? Sheesh. I mean… Su-30MK did test it and AL-41 were also tested, but a full package?
Even Su-27 can do that IRL, just doesnt have RAM for that, but meh, Snail did not programmed this in the game anyway
For the record other planes could too, and not only 2 targets depending on the distance, with manual over ride input and ripple fire …
None of those planes can do it in game with SARH missile as well.
However, it’s not that they couldn’t do it… more likely it wasn’t optimal since it lowers the pK in a significant amount .
Now imagine with what the missiles do in game (IFF , what’s that? ) and the fact that you have to switch manually what would happen in game.
In general many things missing from RL in many planes (unfortunately).
With a bit of reading, it’s more something has to do with any missing radar modes and the synergy they have with the missiles.
Another thing most planes miss , is ripple fire at the same target…for example if you F pole , you can guide 2 missiles (or mode depending on radar and missile) at the same time , if you don’t lose lock.
It’s not an IOG or data-link thing even. It’s a SARH thing…any plane was capable. In game you can’t.
And it’s more simple than guiding a SARH in multiple targets, where you need manual input in a way and better radars.
It getting the engines is fine it’s planned to get them and it may already have them on a small % of airframes but it getting a radar it has never had and them bypassing it having a upgraded bars radar is quite funny where is the evidence of it having irbis installed?
well they went the “maximum option Frankenstein”
that’s so hilarious, all this SM2 situation makes me feel that someone screwed up SU-35s model release deadline so they decide to create… THIS using an already existing SM2 model (it existed in the files for some time)
