It’s really not going to be that bad, it’s a heavier J11A (also 13.7 like the 27SM) but it has a significantly better radar set and RWR compared to it, plus a better selection of overall weaponry. I know y’all are usually doom and gloom about anything with the Flankers but it could have been much worse haha.
Better radar? Same radar, just 1 more DL Channel. Also, it’s like quite heavier than the base Su-27S
The J11A has the 27SK radar set, and not this new PESA set, so yeah way better. And yes it is a bit heavier than the 11A. That’s not even considering the significantly better selection of underslung weaponry for ATG
Dude, it doesn’t have PESA. It’s the same Radar on the 27SM. Better ATG? If better you mean just the Kh-29T and KH-29T but Subsonic, then yes, I’ll give you that.

Oh I was looking at the N001VE-Pero this whole time and not the regular VEP, woopsie. I fully concede on that end I for some reason thought they were the same Radar set LOL. Regardless of me being dumb, it’s still an upgrade over that aircraft’s set even if considered miniscule
Unfortunately, Pero antenna is unknown to have ever been developed beyond a mock up afaik. Would have been nice if N001s got it.
