gaijin intentionally removed the SRC PD mode on the dev server
and i dont have any issues with that, it is not like you would use anything else besides TWS anyways

There is no reason to use it, the radar is good enough so you don’t need it
If it had SRC PD it would just be another radar mode you have to cycle through
With non PESA radars, I always use it, except in BVR which R77 carriers are horrid at. I just use it cause it has better horizontal scan than TWS.

The su30 has a really good wide scan even in tws
most of my experience is with the N001 which has a static scan zones, so I wouldn’t really know
That is what I mean, N001 I never use it. Other PDs I just don’t like TWS, cause R27ER doesn’t work with it.
You can still hard lock ppl through tws
The radar is good enough that you don’t need SRC PD and r77-1 is also alot better at BVR than the normal r77
IK, but just with planes that have e.g 5 degree vertical in terms of TWS I tend to use PD. Also TWS sometimes gets my radar to random places and it is annoying having to constantly adjust.

Yeah, a lot of NATO players don’t realize JUST how bad the N001 radar is relative to its matchmaking peers. To them TWS “just works”. But the combination of the poor scan rate and inflexible scan angles on the N001 radar often means that your TWS contacts are too hideously out of date to reliably acquire any missile locks since the missile will try to lock an empty patch of sky due to the TWS lock being hideously stale. Before they fixed the vertical scan pattern bug I think that the worst case scenario was something ludicrous like upwards of 8 seconds between target updates.

Its on a par with the Captor M the difference is Typhoon depends on it’s Radar for long range engagements Su-27…doesnt as much. With a much more flexible playstyle
I don’t understand what the su-27 gets to be considered “MUCH MORE” flexible than the eurofighter, r27et?
Typhoon needs the Radar it only has 6 120s and 2 9ms
It needs the Radar it cannot really brawl.
Su-27 has R-77, 27ER, ET and R-73.
It carries more of them and doesnt need to BVR or put pressure on early.
It can come in later and clean up most of a team

27ER and ET are overestimated at 14.0 matches, although i agree that having more missiles is an advantage, it loses a lot of its efficiency due to mediocre airframe, which is very important for a missile that has less range. if you don’t want to bvr you can also try orbital aim9m shots with the EFT which is also pretty effective, even more considering that it has possibly the best airframe for current Air RB meta.
I believe both su-27sm and eurofighter aren’t far from each other in terms of balance, both have its pros and cons and saying that one is much more flexible to the other sounds kinda strange to me, specially the flanker lmao.
