I mean, to be frank, it will be just 2 Fakur-90 with much greater range and at best 2 kills before people just start do the same thing they already did since the introduction of Phoenixes.
Still, dont think we need it yet. Just fixing drag issues on R-77-1 would be enough. Worst case scenario? Just start grinding China for the actually decent BVR missile (PL-12)
The range will be much greater, other than that, it is rated to hit the the targets pulling same Gs as r27. Other than that is has a dual pulse motor, hence having a large practical range. It will be mostly unavoidable by turning post 5km. Other than that seeker is much better than pheonix/fakour with a 2 way datalink, however, i believe its still a mechanical seeker, not a ESA
They are not over rated in 14.0, ETs at least are pretty sick, cause it gets people unaware just chaffing and notching. They are really annoying when combined with ARH missiles.
I find them to work well especially against Eagles, since they are a really big flying heat signature, but it’s really hard to make them work against aircrafts with MAW’s like maybe Eurofighters and Rafales, they easily have the situational awarness to spot them in time.
Not always Typhoon can carry 2- 3 storm shadows at 1900kg a piece, Meteor weighs 150kg its not a weight concern it is a design ethos. Meteors and ASRAAMs PK is so good they dont need to carry more missiles.
And Russia also never operate with 14 missiles its inefficient and overkill even in a warzone they do not carry that many.
I just started playing F-15E.
By the time it was spaded I was already doing better than I did in the British post nerf Eurofighter, which was spaded when I started to play it after the nerf.
Personally I think Eurofighter in it’s current state is trash.
I would have better results with the base SU-27.
Wether in War Thunder CAPTOR-M is superior to N001 on paper matters very little at the end of the day considering the options SU-27 has with it’s weaponry.
CAPTOR-M seemingly ends up high on Spaghetti code more often as well.
ASRAAM, yes.
It has been used in ukraine in its surface launched configuration.
Meteor? No, not that we are aware of.
That said in game, the eurofighters radar is top tier garbage and it will fail to ping an enemy about 50% of the time.
It’s better on paper but in game it really just fails to detect or maintain track of any kind of target very often. So much so that using TWS at long range often results in AMRAAMs failing to find their target.
This is improved slightly by using the narrow sweep setting which highly limits your effectiveness.
Even at very close range, the radar will regularly fail to detect enemies for several seconds.
This means you are almost entirely reliant on visual detection and using ACM.
I my experience, The SU27SM radar is better at detecting enemies at close range, and the SU30 radar is by far the best radar I have ever used.
