Yeah F-15E addition was a slam dunk on the F-18.
Typhoon Radar was the issue not the Rafale, the Typhoon for Britain is using a 1980s Radar the Radar on the Tornado and F-4F KWS are superior to the most advanced Mech scanned array.
Radar scan patterns and speed is an issue across the board, instead of returning to line one they rescan the bottom line this means you can have 4-8 seconds between refreshing on wide scan.
Rafale seems amazing and is receiving hourly buffs…flight model, drag, Radar and more missiles
MICAS are great for close to medium range they are hard to defeat and pull crazy hard
Also Su-30SM potentially can get Damocles
That too, but I still doubt Gaiijn will do it.
It affects much more radars with slower scan speed thought. From what I’ve understood so far Captor-M has a rather large area scanned with each scan, but since scans are so far in between it ends up being worse than quicker scanning radars.
Wait til Top Gun 3 release.
They also don’t allow you to select or prioritise scan areas. CAPTUR Can select an area to scan and then jump to another are and jump back using a threat data stored.
i guess they are comparing more with rafale/euro fighter now more than f15e/gripen and su27m/mig29m werent really mass produced so it would be like adding a prototype aircraft or a limited produced aircraft like the su-33.
it should get 2 more (r77s/r73s) missiles than su27sm , if they give it double pylons like the sm.
maybe tvc engines will save it in wvr against EFT/rafale.
30SM offers multirole/CAS capabilities that are not seen in Su-35, plus it offers China a competitive top tier CAS in form of 30MKK, so I can see why people want it more than any other Flanker variants. Plus 30SM has both canards and thrust vectoring.
Still I think Russia would probably needed the MiG-29K most, since it is long overdue a F-16C competitor and is the only single seat MIG-29M variant they operated
The next russian flanker might be Su-27SM3 and Su-30SM (Russian Navy)
Legacy hornet with AIM-120 AMRAAM or Super Hornet Block II equivalent ?
But I want gajin add Su-30SM from russian navy to naval aircraft line
can it take off from kuznetsov/does it have a tailhook ? i really want them to add the kuznetsov in air rb/air sim.
Both are technically the same no matter it is from VKS or VMF. It is likely to have a single airframe representing both forces.
Gajin not add new russian navy fighter aircraft top tier 2 years
Su-30SM from russian air force operator no tailhook landing on carrier, and not access anti-ship missile (exclusive for russian navy only).
I mean they both were produced in at least 1 airframe that had ALL the features the production aircraft would have had. (At least in the case of the MiG-29M we know production tools were ready to pump copies of the -156 aircraft (now OVT)).
They may save it in dogfights but i think it’s pretty well proven by now that acceleration/climb/speed are far more important for general air RB (especially for BVR) than dogfight performance. And this is pretty dependent on thrust to weight.
Isn’t the J-10 good enough for CAS? Still what the soviet tech tree lacks now is a very competitive top tier aircraft, not CAS. Su-34 is more than enough.
The original 29k is just a navalized original MiG-29M, they both have the small canopy. The ones produced in the 2000s both use the big canopy for single seat and 2 seat versions. (Single seat ones have a fuel tank in the place of the second seat).
Su-30MKK is very different to Su-30SM, it will be just havier Su-27SM without even new engines and will have only slightly more amount of some CAS weapon.
GBU 39 on SU-27,
Maybe we can see them on IG. Sorry if this has already been posted I haven’t read the whole topic
Thats a UAF Su-27.
