Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 1)

Does “Снаряжённого” mean empty?

Also 1540 seems to be a 10% increase. Ain’t there a 15% increase on most aircraft limits in game?

Someone Russian has to chime in but from what I can make of it, it essentially says “equipped weight” or “curb weight”

Not sure if it includes the missiles and pilots (or just the fluids), but I doubt it

Normal fuel weight is 5120
And normal takeoff weight is 26090

19710 + 5120 = 24830

So it doesn’t seem to include the missiles and pilots

2x R-73 + 2x R-27ER = 910

26090 - 19710 - 5120 - 910 = 350

Which is a reasonable figure for missile rails and pilots.

Apparently it’s 5% for other aircrafts
10% for the Flankers currently (not sure why)

Bug report:

Su-30SM incorrect rip speed:

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/HX5dwrMfSCFJ

Oh boy, thats great, the thing already fall from the sky due to any small maneuver because it is heavy and the engines are weak, now it will get even heavier, well, back to my su27sm if I want to have a “ok” fm for duels

(Im not attacking you or smt like that, this is just frustration)

Well, it’s a massive twin seater … So not much can be done about it (That is, if Gaijin even accepts the report)

But you can pull some crazy stuff off with TVC + HMS + R-73 …
It would work even better if they fixed the R-73 and made it not wobble like crazy (I almost shot down myself once)

Plus, if they buff the scan area it should get even better in BVR

Yeah thats true. I appreciate your effort in making the bug reports, it’s just not much fun having to face ufos in other nations in (guns only) duels, for air rb the plane will still be good

Launchers alone would be 218 kg, 132 kg for two pilots and their equipment is too low. As well you don’t count gun ammo, countermeasures, unwasted fuel and pylons. 19710 kg isn’t absolute empty mass devs use. But I’m not exactly sure how empty in game empty mass is.

Feel free to comment in the report.

I’m sure they will do their own math … They aren’t gonna just take my word and put it into the files …

I just did some napkin math to illustrate the fact.

They already did, mass is final, I asked about this on Dev already

AKU-470 97 kg
19710-2 pilot, oil engine, oxygen, air, CM, ammo gun

19710 - 250 (pilots) - 200 (rails) - 72 (gun ammo) - 50 (CM) - 30 (oil) = 19108

In the game we have 18830

(Game assumes an oil mass of 30)

This is assuming that the 19710 figure actually includes the rails

BTW, do you know if they used this document or something else?

I wonder why the Vne is off if they did …
All Flankers seems to use a 1.1 multiplier instead of 1.05 for some reason.

As for mass, seems like even if it’s off it’s not off by much … Changed the report to just Vne.

Vne multiplier in game always was 1.05-1.10, I don’t know what criteria is

Do you know of any other example with 1.1?

Seems like people always assume 1.05

For example, MiG listed 1500 kph for MiG-29SMT

In the game it gets 1575

Which is a 1.05 multiplier
So it seems quite inconsistent to use 1.1 for Flankers

19710-180(pilot)-165kg (AKU-470)-140kg(ammo gun)-80kg(CM)-30kg(oil)-5kg (C2H5OH)-2 kg (Oxygen)

Yeah, I think I also assumed too low of a weight for gun ammo … I used projectile mass rather than the whole round

Out of curiosity what is the ethanol used for?

Probably as coolant.
