From my understanding the su-27sm3 is basically a su-35 with worse avionics.

I don’t think so. The Su-27SM3 still uses the airframe of the Su-27, and if it uses the N001VEP-PERO radar, it still cannot compare to the Su-35 and cannot carry long-range missiles like the R-37M as the Su-35 can.
Pero it is array for MK3 (China), but this was not implemented
I found an old Vietnamese article mentioning that the Su-27SM3 is equipped with the N001VE-PERO radar. Another article, also from a Vietnamese source, stated that the Su-30M2 uses the N001VE-PERO radar and AL-31FM1 engines. It also mentioned that Russia conducted experimental upgrades on the Su-30M2 by equipping it with the IRBIS-E radar and AL-41S engines.

The information I have on the Su-27SM, which is commonly available in publication says that the second batch of Su-27SM’s received the AL-31F1’s, so I’m not sure if that makes it an SM2 or not. I think it’s still an SM.
Issue is it never got the double rack, but I guess it is Gaijin ‘balance’ for having bad missiles and radar.
Frankly, Irbis-E would help with acquiring targets, but it wouldn’t improve gameplay, especially at the cost of 2xR-77. The issue was(still is) in the FM of the missile and plane, and radar just helps you suffer less from it (marginal).
I have a feeling this is going to be sorted out across multiple patches and probably a rebalance.
I think R77 remodel will happen with flanker patch likely coming aka Su30s across sth like 5 nations and that will be their best chance.

What nations would get su30s? Britain, Russia, china, that’s about it?
I hope britain doesn’t get the su30 in the next update, the EF is enough for now and like smin said:
“to keep people’s expectations on a realistic level rather than the automatic assumptions that are often made here that because X nation is a subtree or Y, they will automatically get everything ever used by default. It’s not always the case.”
See i’m a British main and if and when the Su-30MKI gets added to the game it should go to the tech tree that has Indian vehicles. Su-30 is operated by India in large ammounts and to not add it would be a mistake.
However that doesnt mean I expect to see it next update

I think India should just get it’s own tech tree instead of only getting a few vehicles in the British TT whenever gaijin wants to give it a new premium or another 10.3 AA

India should have it’s own tech tree. I think if the Indian market showed the interest that Chinese player base had they would.
But if that doesnt happen the Su-30MKI should go to Britain as they represent India in game.
Currently Indian vehicles Britain have are some Soviet era SAMs, a Squadron T-90S, MiG 21 (missing the R-77 it should have) and an event Jaguar.
If India is a British sub tree (which it is) then they need to start receiving vehicles that fill gaps and increase capabilities

The su30 wouldn’t fill any gaps tho,
It would just be another top-tier like the EF and Gripen which are already present in the British TT.
On top of that, why would you need to grind any other TT when you can get everything in Britain, right?
That would be a stupid desicion on gaijin’s side, because atleast for top tier vehicles ppl don’t have to grind as many TTs anymore because everything is going to be in the British TT.
And if India isn’t getting its own TT we probably will not see alot of its vehicles like some of its Mig21 variants, or its Mig29k’s or even the mig35,
just because the British TT doesn’t need them.
The Yak141 should also have the r73 and r77.
It is nothing new that some aircraft are missing their historical loadouts (looking at you Mig29)

Fire and forget ground attack missiles would be nice and if and when we get modern Naval Brahmos
Typhoon does everything that any other British jet should do. It’s the perfect multirole aircraft.
But they are not a huge ammount of versions they can add, next upgrade would be be Meteor/Brimstone 3 and AESA Radar. After that it’s F-35
Well it’s better to have them ingame than not added, Russia will almost certainly recieve the MiG 35/MiG 29K/KR. The 21 variants as they have modernised the 21s should also get them.
Su-30MKI uses Western/Indian Avionics and (in some cases weapon systems we dont have the Astra in game yet) that makes it unique enough not to go to the Russian tree.
British players will of course benefit from these additions. Indian players or players interested in Indian hardware will not want to be treated like the Canadian/Autrailian player base who have to play multiple nations and cannot put together an OZ/Canadian lineup as the systems are spread between various trees.
Not against that, now we have passed the (it’s experimental argument) would be cool to see it recieve it’s correct ordinance and one day to operate off the Minsk
But they got to add something
Like maybe not a Rafale but something is going to come because you don’t add a sub tree just to add a Mig-21
