Both the early versions of the M and K (9-15 and 9-31) were neither mass produced nor fielded in active service, while the modern ones (9-61 and 9-41) were both mass produced. No difference there.

There was an extremely easy method for defeating the R-27ER when it was meta that made it a lot less relevant than USA mains claimed. It was actually pretty irrelevant in sim.

How is the usual su-27 (j-11) on 13.0 playing now? I want to buy a talisman, I feel they will add the ninth rank soon, I need to be safe for the future. Does it make sense? Or j-8F better?
In my opinion it’s still a very good plane, people overexaggerate saying it’s shit because they’ll face fox3s while they forget that it’ll also fight phantoms with a 6x r27er loadout… Now with the fm buff it became much more enjoyable.
I don’t have the j-8f so i can’t say which plane is better for a talisman, but putting on the su-27 wouldn’t be a bad idea
Especially so in Sim where more than 3/4 of the lobbies are Tunisia and Denmark.
I’m purposely only joining Afghanistan lobby since there are actually some elevation to play around in this map… I wish there was more maps to play than those three, but apparently nobody is ever interested in other maps.
Dont… 80% full uptiers and even when its mix of 13.0s, usually you are swarmed by amraams anyway. If it had L-150, sure but SPO-15? NO fkin way.

Like the whole 60m multipathing change was heavily lobbied for by sim players but now they play on maps that are almost exclusively flat so they can rely on multipath just like before.
J-8F with PL-12 better?
From my expierience playing sim mostly US players played on those flat maps at top tier so nobody can hide from their radar when they are up in space.
At lower br’s you mostly find those small/flat map because people grind on them by bombing bases
(which is boring af if you ask me)
Most of the players who actally want to do pvp and not just bomb bases prefer maps like Afghanistan,
Spain, Rocky Canyon and Vietnam.
Mind you those are the really big 128km^2 maps and have terrain features which either make multipathing harder or impossible to some extent, while allowing you to terrain mask.

Imho, i dont think there is single 13.0 thats worth spending money on. They have horrible MM. In sims, it could be kinda decent i think. Never flew it though.
Until we get 14.3 so 13.7-14.0s are all sucked up. 13.0 will suffer.

F-16 was at least a 1:1 match for the MiG-29 ever since apex predators released and since then the F-16 has been buffed multiple times and the MiG-29 has been nerfed multiple times.
Only a handful of nations had a 16 I was getting murdered in my Phantom FGR-2. I remember then 23 domination and then the F-14 came and ruined that and then the 29 was as scary as the F-16 to me.
F-16 is a UFO we know that it retains energy too well and can pull insane AOA with the nose authority of a Delta canard!
R-24T and R along with R-27 were just free kills to anything that didn’t have a Gen 4 airframe.

So? UK sucked but that doesn’t mean anything regarding MiG-29 being “the meta” or not. It was a shared meta between those two and the balance changes that came afterwards immediately made the F-16 far better than the 29 which continues to be the case to this day.
MLD only was meta for about 6 months, except the USA was meta both before that 6 months and now ever since they have stayed the meta.

As someone who flies all nations, the 29 was a contender for top position just like how most new additions are, but was quickly nerfed into being an extremely mid plane which is where it lies now
Russia was ABSURD meta during 15Bis times, meta during 17 times, meta during 19 times, SUPER meta when F13 and F4C came as they fixed 19 to the point it lacked drag for months and was literally unkillable in good hands. Was meta with SMT and R60, was meta with 21Bis, then slight hole with 23M and absurd meta with MLD that ruled for like an year as it was on par with tomcat in BFM and R24R was better than meme broken 7F which could have been defeated by two sharp turns, its radar and R24R was superior for meta. (sparrow mind you, was fixed only months after F15As introduction, it was poor POS missile that barely worked till recently)
Until F-16s addition which was on par for a looong time with 29, Russia was meta for absolute majority of war thunders existence and even Su-27 was no slouch.
Only now russia enjoys what most nations had to go through under the hand of 15bis, 23MLD, 19PT or 21bis.
Nah, F-86F-2 team were utterly dominating most of the Air RB match. My only top tier at the time was the german Mig15Bis. Most of the matches were in the Spain map, and red side at the time was losing by points automatically in around 15 minutes of match, if they didn’t lose to the F-86F-2. After that it was the Hunter since nobody could catch it, and then the 17.
Then there was various meta from various nation. J32B with Sweden notably. And then came the supersonics and the T-2 broke the game for good.
I’m not talking about ancient history here, I’m also not literally saying they were never meta once in WT’s history. I’m saying people cherrypick the few times they were meta in air RB and don’t care about the fact they’re going through a shitty period rn. You are also way off with saying which periods they were meta. USA was meta far more often during those periods than USSR overall.
