Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 1)

isnt the su37 also lighter compared to the su30sm? tbh i just wanted the su35 engines on the su30sm D: a little bit more of thrust would be awesome

It is

Being a single seater tend to do that

In War Thunder it is a bit more than a gimmick.

TVC is literally one of the biggest gimmick in game. Unless you actually enjoy losing all that energy

Blue/purple-ish flame when? D:

I do not agree. R-27ER is still very useful especially on SU-27SM and older Flankers but R-77-1 is more versatile and safe to use.

SU-30 IS a heavy machine especially if a whole missile arsenal is hanging on it’s pylons.
But that is not an issue.

There are situations in which it carries the whole plane.

Irl. it tends to be more of a gimmick due to range and aerial warfare tactics and formations but in game things are different.

Even in merges it’s usefulness is questionable at best, cause again, losing all that energy is not necessarily good for survival

:( when gaijin stop being lazy, we still dont have a “clean” config for the su30 either, lot of stuff need to be fixed related to the 3d model

R-77 is more versatile and efficient currently when it is paired with R-27ER.

MICA is better unless you shoot at afk players on the other side of the map.

R-77-1 is a straight upgrade.

Merging in general is not good for survival.
Your view is to simple.

In a merge with Rafale thrust vectoring as well as R-73 and R-77 are what may save you from a Rafale.

I think a report about the flame color was even made already xD, but since the afterburners are copy n pasted textures… no wonder it hasn’t changed.

And yeah 3D model still looks kinda off according to some reports

You win matches by pressing your advantage, not by playing it safe.

Too many players play it safe by rippling off all their missiles at the start and running back to base.

Nope, if to be an extreme nerd - Su-37 didn’t crash. After all flight tests and demonstrations were finished, this airframe was fitted back with its basic AL-31F engines, turning it back into Su-27M. And after that this airframe crashed.

That assumes the Raf already hasn’t fired their TVC MICAs already. Gun only even highlights more how TVC is a gimmick because again, losing all that energy leaves you vulnerable to being engage while you hang in the air for a few seconds

Has nothing to do with the matter at hand.

SU-30 can press harder if you will. It is capable of firing superior missiles to the other contenders missiles while it is also carrying more missiles than the other contenders.

R-77-1 is a straight upgrade over AIM-120A/B.

yup, the 3d model report was made a month ago with a LOT of stuff to fix
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/jLyP0AcOEhy3
and the afterburner also, 1 month ago for both su30 and j11b

Its an R-77 with one second of extra fuel, and the same drag problems the instant the fuel runs out.

For securing kills, you use the R-27ER’s, R-27ET’s and R-73’s.

Wrong again.

ET and R-73 are wonderful but in game R-77-1 pulls harder than AIM-120 while having more range.

The statcard as well as real life information and my gameplay experience confirms this.

No kill needs to be secured if the R-77-1 connects which it will do on longer ranges and in more angles than AIM-120 would.
