Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 1)

One V One.
Su-30 is going to beat a Typhoon.

Typhoon is fast, thats pretty much it.

Typhoons Radar is a liability, it’s payload is one of the weakest. 120s are good at longer range and 9ms are well fine they dont pull G and cant be used in a dogfight.

The Su-30 will find Typhoon first it will be in a position to apply pressure and keep Typhoon on the defensive until it gets into realistic killing ranges
It then sits in the notch and uses up the other 5+ missiles it has.

All Typhoon can do in that case is try and multipath or run away and go cold

If that doesnt work and it merges with Typhoon the R-73 and Cobra button give it more of an advantage.

No, not really.

Great payload.

The AIM9M’s are exceptional combined with the AIM-120’s. Forcing the enemy to go defensive against one puts them into the kill-zone of the other

Because the massive engine difference, the Typhoon has the advantage of position, usually in early game altitude while the SU-30 is still climbing.

Ah the old cobra meme button, I love when people fall for that trick sometimes, very cinematic.

Typhoons Radar is terrible. Su-30 has better SA.
Yes Typhoon is fast which is relevant.
6 120s vs 12 R-77-1
BOL pods as your main counter measures a MAWS/DASS system that doesnt work.

Aim9M is fine, but as distances close the missile is less effective similar to the 120.

I think equal pilots the Su-30SM edges it in the current game.

Su-35 is going to blow Typhoon and Rafale away.

Its a solid radar, you don’t need much to hammer down the pressure on the enemy, either TWS with narrow search limits or STT.

Even the notorious Su-27SM radar is enough for that.

What it can’t do the best is the lazy tactic of climbing, rippling off all the fox3’s and running back to base. Which is a bad play either way, because again, it doesn’t press the advantage.

Maintaining pressure, you don’t need to get into dogfight range. The IRCCM does the rest.

Su-35 isn’t ingame

Which planes carry AL-41F-1 (14500 kp) and AL-41F-1S (14000 kp)?

Bro really pretends to know shit while having stats like that? Man, jokes about US mains just write themselves.

Su-35S and Su-30SM2 (not all of them from my understanding) carry AL-41F-1S, and Su-57 carries AL-41F-1. 1S difference is usage of old hydromechanical engine controls, while basic F-1 uses electrical controls. I dunno if reduced thrust is due to that or some other changes tho.

Russia didn’t confirm AL-31F M2 deliveries to china, so there might be a bit of false information there.

Hop in game right now, we will see who can talk, RB-peasant

yeah i just did a fast google xD wiki is not 100%

Cry louder, maybe someone will hear it.

I’m not the one crying the 30SM is bad though?

Same with AL-37FU. From the information i gathered it was ultimately scrapped, but all the work put there resulted in AL-41F-1 engines. Su-37 demontrator had good old AL-31FP, just like Su-30SM

iirc the su37 that crashed was the one that had the al-37FU, so after that they just used the old al-31FP, but ofc, i could be wrong

Take it elsewhere, its derailing the thread at this point

Initial versions had the FP. 37FU wasn’t ready when the Paris Farnborough Airshow happened

i see, so they never even tested the 37FU?

They probably did with internal testing up until it crashed
