It was intended for export but there was no one interested in it

So they just shelfed it

I mean, when you think about it, the logic behind the Su-57 design is actually pretty good. I mean, just look at it; it’s a sub-1 m² RCS. Include electronic warfare, and you get a pretty good aircraft that most modern radars would struggle to get a lock on, so when you think about it, when the two stealth jets fight each other, it’s more than likely that they might get close enough to use IR missiles or maybe even get into a dogfight.

And I have to say, people that hate the Su-57 don’t really see the purpose of it; they just see, Ahh, it’s worse RCS than the Raptors, so it’s just a bad jet. Based on design clues, I can see the Su-57 isn’t really meant to be like a stealth fighter equal to a Raptor; it’s supposed to fight inside of its air defense bubble. And I know I’m not supposed to talk about it, but in certain happenings in Eastern Europe, you can see the Su-57 doing exactly that.

we DONT know rcs of either raptor or su57

those 0.1 to 1m2 were the guessed values of older t50 prototypes with ram only intakes and irst, no radar blocker either.

that was way before serial su57 were a thing are just bs atp imo

it can probably used as a naval jet, russia doesnt have a 5th gen carrier based jet

We actually do know. If you check the guys from the aircraft 101, they did a 3D simulation of the Su-57, and they came up with a 0.1 to 0.5 m²RCS without usage of RAM. Now, I understand it’s not 100% right because, you know, it’s still classified; that’s just a simulation, but it gives us an idea of how stealthy the aircraft is. I do believe that these numbers are right because you have to understand the biggest reflective surface on the Su-57 design is the engine air intakes. But I did hear that they are making an S-shaped air duct for the Su-57 when it gets the AL-51F1.

no they arent

they are using the doors in the intake that are used to control the speed of the air to hide the compressor blades

means that at higher speeds the compressor blades are hidden
which would reduce RCS for a BVR scenario

No, I’m not saying they’re 100% going to do it; I’m just saying what I heard because apparently AL 51 is going to be much smaller, so they have enough space to put an S-shaped duct. Now That’s What I Saw And of course, because it’s my luck, I can’t find a single picture of a blueprint now.

here are real Su-57 cockpit photos since no one bothered to post them (different than su75)

101 simulation is kinda flawed for su57 especially

DIRCM is taken as perfect reflector, same for IRST, inlet guide vanes not coated in RAM despite being a part of intake, not taking variable ramps etc.

stealthflanker redid the sim (he helped in the 101 simulation too)

result was geometrically and frotnally, when su57 irst is closed, its rcs was similar to f35

that looks like it is from the Su-35

either they use the same HUD for the Su-57 as for the Su-35 or it is a Su-35 HUD

actually yeah you are right mb

they probably use the same

Is the r-77m missile only offered for the su-57?

Also, does anyone have a clear picture of it? I only remember the Su-57 picture.

Yeah, that su-57/t-50 pic might be the clearest pic of it that we have

I thought the ramjet version was canceled?

Spoiler

looks completely different to old ramjet r77

I thought r77-me was just export r77m not ramjet

Sources I found showed it was a ramjet R-77M variant.
