DISCLAIMER: The Su-15 was produced in 1962, 7 years earlier than the Chinese J-8.
(and no this is not a suggestion) (although it could be)
The Russians had many an ace up their sleeve, but this may not have been one of them.
Introducing the Su-15/TM.
Initially produced as a literal Russian J-8, but later due to poor take-off performance, its wings were given a redesign on the SU-15 TM which made them look a bit like the wings of the J-7E (a double delta configuration).
