It may come then for us to make the JAS39C 14.0 and the JAS39A 13.7 so theres not a weird top tier line

@Smin1080p_WT Since EF’s are getting Aim-120C-5’s can expect the same treatment for JAS-39C models?
It’s the only top tier jet that is limited to 4 ARH missiles, I think it’s fair to say it should receive better AMRAAMs.

Reasonable armament for the Gripen’s makes too much sense for Gaijin to do it.
The C could never be 14.0 with 6 missiles, actually nevermind the F-18C is worse in every way than the other ones and it’s still 14.0. Gaijin really doesn’t give a f*** about Swedish air, not to mention we need to research a whole nother 420k RP plane to get what everyone else gets.

While it is certainly not meta in realistic by any means, that is not a good argument for removing the playstyle. It currently fills a niche no other plane fills in the tree. Personally I find it very fun to play in arcade battles and it might be relevant in Sim (but I can’t speak to that).
I don’t know about the historical options available, but if they could make the change like they did to the Viggen D it would be for the best. One gripen A with the same missiles and one with the aim120, foldered of course, simply to keep existing playstyle.
Its currently just the 14.0 jets under consideration for AIM-120C.

I see, but wouldn’t make more sense to give C5 to JAS39C’s and make them 14.0? Considering they get uptiered %95 time it will give them more chance to fight back against other top tier jets.
That then removes them from the 13.7 pool, which has a knock on effect down to 12.7. As was the case when previous generations of IR / SARH missiles were introduced, it wont be the case that every aircraft possible will automatically receive them in order to maintain the BR spread.

Can we at least expect some decompression then, or at least a matchmaking change to make the BR variance a maximum of 0.7 instead of 1.0? Fox 1 carriers, especially the ones limited to Aim7s, are almost unplayable at 13.0, since matchmaking almost always puts you at 14.0, I believe this will just make it worse. I’m currently grinding the Baz alongside the Netz and there is just no comparing them, also 2 stock 9L and 7Ms with the flight performance of a brick at 14.0 feels… lets just say not so nice.

that is what i was trying to not change: we got the JA 37DI at 13.0 (same as JAS 39A currently)
uptier JAS 39A to 13.7 with aim-120B’s
then uptier JAS 39C to 14.0 with aim-120C-5’s
i dont see what the problem is here to not do this. we still got a plane at 13.0, one at 13.7 and now two at 14.0, i dont see an issue here.
Its obvious Gaijin is planning to introduce JAS39NG with C5’s at least, hence why they are keeping 39C models at 13.7 with AIM-120B missiles.

wich is stupid, cause that one should have Meteors and come later. since it has 3 extra hardpoints on its belly for 3 Meteors. but cant do that for aim-120’s.
39NG is a beast that shoudnt be nerfed like that.
Meteor Missiles will most likely come with JAS39E model or Gaijin will add them to NG later.
Either way they dont consider to add Aim-120C5 to current JAS39C for now.

the 39A dosnt deserve to be stuck with aim-7’s
specialy when you got the 37DI with aim-120’s BEFORE it.
not to mention how frustrating it is to play the 39A
and it acts like litte more than a 400 000 RP speedbump to the 39C.
and i want to play it to enjoy it. and its just impossible now.
and the 39C will do fine in 14.0 so there shoudnt be any issue really.

I would also like to see both JAS39’s with better missiles but Gaijin policy is clear for this situation.
I mean you can keep pushing but i doubt they will listen to us considering what they did with Finnish Hornets.
