Hello everyone,
I would like to suggest the addition of a commemorative Spanish skin for the F/A-18 Hornet in War Thunder: the 25th Anniversary Special Edition, created to celebrate the 25 years of service of the Spanish Air Force’s Hornets. This unique skin combines historical significance with a spectacular design, making it a perfect candidate for inclusion in the game.
History and Significance of the F/A-18 25th Anniversary Skin
The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet has been a core component of Spain’s air defense since its introduction in the late 1980s. The Spanish Air Force (Ejército del Aire y del Espacio) purchased several units under the designation C.15 and has used them extensively in air superiority, ground attack, and multinational NATO missions.
In 2010, to celebrate 25 years of continuous service, one of the F/A-18s belonging to Ala 15 (15th Wing), based at Zaragoza Air Base, was specially decorated for the occasion.

Why Include This Skin in War Thunder?
- Celebrates Spanish Air Force Heritage: Marks an important milestone in Spain’s modern military aviation history.
- Unique and Visually Impressive Design: The tiger and orange-themed pattern make this skin instantly recognizable and visually distinct from standard F/A-18 schemes.
- Increases Representation of Spain in the Game: Currently underrepresented, Spain’s air force history would gain more visibility with this addition.
- Commemorative Value: Special liveries with historical significance resonate strongly with players interested in aviation heritage.
Adding the F/A-18 25th Anniversary Spanish Special Skin to War Thunder would honor Spain’s contribution to NATO and modern aerial combat. The historical value combined with its aggressive and unique aesthetics make it a skin that would appeal to both aviation enthusiasts and casual players alike.
I hope this suggestion gains support, and I appreciate any discussion and feedback in the comments!
