About the flag though it might be possible to show the flag of the majority of a players lineup instead of always defaulting to one nation, but this is a difficult idea because it might be an issue for the UI with too many national flags.
Yes, that is the idea. I think this might be a good option for multiple nations that aren’t in game. Like Eastern Europe for example, where Gaijin had plans for a long time, but likely also understand that any single nation as “main” nation over others might cause backlash.
This way the nations could all be equal, but still combine lineups to match existing nations like the combined tree concepts made by players do.
We need this so much, I can’t imagine any problem this would probably pose for anyone and it solves so many current issues
Maybe if we whine loud enough the devs will lose it and give us this system
Gaijin have just announced their newest event vehicle, the HAL HF-24 Marut
This is a rather interesting aircraft for the Indian nation, and I’m sure many are really excited to see it in game, but it also shows one of the biggest flaws with current subtrees.
With the HF-24, the main serial production variant of a domestic aircraft of the Indian nation is locked to a limited time event. In an Indian tree, this would’ve been a techtree vehicle, but because it is “just” a subtree, it is treated differently.
Subtrees should mean multiple nations working together, instead of one nations content being taken to pad out another.
Right on.
Nation Folders is desperately needed for this game. And people need to get over the mentality that “wah but giving that nation to that tech tree means they get access to things that my main nation doesn’t.” Just play more than one tech tree…
What the heck, why hasn’t this been passed on to the developers yet? This is a solid proposal, and it absolutely deserves consideration. You have my full support.
Lot of these are a bit weird. North and South Korea should be a new unified, complete tree like Israel. If not then at least South Korea should got to Japan. Switzerland is already confirmed to be in German TT. Austria is probably the same. Greece in Italy? Gaijin confirmed that Poland will be added eventually, it would make for a pretty good Eastern Europe tree. USSR has more than enough just because of how many production/prototype variants they’ve got.
That’s my 2 cents.
This is unlikely to happen as both have barely to no connection. South Korea as sub (hopefully not) is either going to the US or other countries which they militarily connected too.
Plus Japan already has Thailand as a sub tech tree, which, if implemented correctly in the future with more vehicles, should be more than enough to fill out the gaps and supplement WW2 + postwar JSDF vehicles.
Yes, these are images used in an old forum suggestion. They are no longer accurate to the current game. I saved them here to preserve a suggestion that essentially started this whole idea back when it was made.
I wouldn’t really say that, for example Thai air is already near complete, leaving the new air additions with:
F-35A/B
F-5TH*
T-50TH*
F-16A eMLU*
Gripen E* (ordered for 2029, probably won’t be added
sooner)
‘*’ → Vehicles that are unlikely to be top tier
I still don’t think that Korea is a good solution though. Instead I think Indonesia is probably a better and far less controversial option, that would also tie into a theme with Thailand.
But specific subtrees aren’t the point of this suggestion anyways, so it doesn’t really matter here.
Why is this such a common thought? South Korea and Japan have literally nothing in common, other than Japan being horrible to them. If South Korea went to anyone, it’d be the US (unlikely, US tree is bloated and still has more to add at every BR), or the proposed United Korean tree. Other than that, I can only really seeing it being what Canada is, a nation shared between nations.
In the next major update, Gaijin will add the Swiss C-3604 to the German tech tree as part of a Swiss subtree.
By itself this is amazing news. It’s a subtree that does help out a lot especially with the higher tiers of the air tree, and the C-3604 specifically is a unique WWII aircraft from Switzerland that’s being added to the main research tree. It’s unique, it’s not locked as a premium and it’s some lower tier appreciation, it’s almost perfect…
Almost…
This, is how they placed it in the tree…
Now to be fair, this is not their fault, it was arguably the most logical possible placement. That is however only because it was the only possible placement.
With all five lines already having a full set of three aircraft besides this one, and foldering it behind some random aircraft arguably being worse, this is the best possible placement for the C-3604.
The implication of this addition now is that the research tree for Rank II of German aviation is full, making it the third full rank of any research tree in the entire game, after Rank II of US aviation and Rank I of German ground.
With the Swiss subtree officially announced this also marks the first official subtree soft banned from receiving researchable vehicles in a certain rank. There now can not be any Swiss ground vehicles in the research tree, outside of an unlikely restructure of the research tree.
Rare event rewards such as the WWI tanks or the Soviet Po-2 make rare exceptions for the 3-per-line rule
I believe this once again proves the need for more space for all involved nations to be able to create a better game with more potential for future growth.
If they moved the Ju-88 C-6 to Rank 1 they could sit the new C-3604 into the attacker line, it makes no sense for it to be in that current position since when they expand Swiss vehicles where are they going to put the D-3801 (1941) and D-3801 (1944)?
