Also Cold war subs even nuke subs can be added just don’t let people use the nukes. There are some WW1 subs I would love to see from Imperial Germany (there massive)
Problem is not with nukes but with torpedoes that are very advanced and lack of countermeasures. Same as AShM. Lets just stay with ww2 and maybe early nuclears from 50’s.

Also some Cold War Torps are kind of strange so it could be balanced in the area few of our maps are deep enough to take advantage of the large subs.
Not unless destroyers are given things like towed arrays, asroc, helicopters equipped with torpedoes, depth charges, sonars, the list of things they’d need to not make cold war subs OP is long and requires alot if in-depth and properly thought out implementation, not that I’m against their addition, I’d love to see the Oberon or British SSN’s in game but I’d prefer to wait until the technology balance has caught up to make such submarines appropriate.

aw, I was hoping they would move the hydrophone noise indication off of the minimap to some bespoke UI element. Having it right on the map made finding subs too easy in the Battle of the Atlantic event, imo anyway.
Still, the ( indications of; plans for ) more advanced modelling of torpedo aiming is very interesting, and I’m looking forward to seeing more come from it.

I could sadly see from some of the boats we already have in game you and the bros in your WW1 Uboat getting nuked by a 1970s anti-sub frigate.

I know that but most atomic powered subs tend to have atomic weapons. Very rare to have a desal sub with a nuke (they exist) but a boomer sub will tent to be atomic powered but are fully capable of doing standard anti-ship work with there torpedoes.

Truth be told a boomer sub would suck on most of the naval maps as there very large and by being in shallow water you risk getting stuck or easily spotted from the air. Deep water would be a must older subs like Uboats will be fine.

Mine would still use ww2 era torpedos
Japan is going to be the most effective of the sub branches that’s my thoughts due to there torpedoes.
