indeed and hope for a heli ec mode lbut with uboats attacking harbors and so on

ah yeah of the submarines i know from the event and it looks cool af, thx. i was even more interested in like seafloor and stuff, the way it already promised to look with the nuclear sub event long long time ago (that i only know from videos of phly and such…man those giant nuclear subs breaking through the water surface or even ice was visually…i just cant…chef’s kiss…and that was what? 8 years ago?

I am hoping we can play before December if I need to splash a bit of cash I am more than happy to do so.

I really like what they’re doing with the hydrophone. Also a neat little detail of your underwater and you go dead stop you’ll start sinking a nice little detail, though. I think the air bubbles around the submarine are a little too much.

100% same. even if it isn’t a Japanese submarine nothing will get inbetween me and playing these vessels ASAP

thats cool af. man nopw with a mechanic (even if only visual) of shipwrecks breaking apart while sinking…dang

I did on mine just let the tanks go so air will escape causing said bubbles

Japanese subs will come just don’t know when but a type 7 to hold me over to then is fine.

u meant light is fading at 40 m? oh btw…how deep can u dive now? realistic depths? since oxy said 100 m but it takes like 2 min, which feels quite nice for me, even with twice overexaggerated diving speed from irl…but depends how the actual gameplay will be. it still looked quite slow, but not as “unrealistically” quick like in the ww2 sub event where you could almost outdive depth charges iirc

yeah, seems I can only get the camera below water when there’s a submarine involved and that user mission has a really deep seafloor. It’s also not one of our normal naval maps so probably not much to see there.

but I also can’t wait to see what the maps will look like underwater.

ah i see. ok thx anyways i will keep my excitement in check for that till the update. or at least ill try^^

But: somehow from my memory i can recall some faint pictures of seafloor in WT (and i really hope i dont mix them up with another game though, i couldnt tell which) and i dont know where from i have these in my head. ww2 sub event had quite deep seafloor, it was too dark and you couldnt see the seafloor iirc. nuke sub event???maybe… but anyways i remember it looking surprisingly good with fauna and rocks and stuff…i really hope i dont mix it up with another game.
And i also dont know how much it would actually matter for gameplay bc in most matchess youd basically nowhere be able to see the floor. Id just love it so much if it looked rather realistic.

the diving is incredibly slow with these vessels. I need to stress test em but I got the Type 7 down to 70 meters before resetting the mission to do other things. it says it can go down to 300 but I need to really check

I wonder where he got that mission from?

EDIT: DAMN NOW I KNOW!!! its from coastal on the tropical maps!!! the seafloor looks so cool there!

I think he said ASKLAD

quick google search verifies that. it was tested till 230, practical (if thats the word) depth was 200 and calculated depth where it would be crushed was 250 till 295 m.

i had no idea how deep they could/would typically go and if they implemeneted the realistic values, but that seems like they would implement realistic values, albeit it would take you very long to get down there (and down there you cant do a whole lot yourself like engaging vessels, i think oxy said u can launch torps only till 20 m depth and mines till 30 or something, obviously, since youre basically safe from surface ships at those depths (?)). But i think its nice that youre not forced, like in the ww2 event, to almost stay in a depth where youre in danger all the time but just above the depth where youd get crushed.

I believe the sub always listed its correct crush depth in the stat card even during the old event, so it was always just an artificial limit for that event.
