Surcouf gonna be strong, im telling ya, 2 203mm guns in a movable turret way stronger than 1 305mm gun that is fixed forward on the big Japanese submarine gonna sneak some ammo racks with it. It also gets a turnable turret for it torps so you can be extra cracked.
I400 carried planes though, not a big gun i think ? wasn’t the one with the 305 british ?
Possible i remember it wrong
Crazy to think these undersea behemoths are actually quite small by today standards though, submarines really did not evolve the same way surface ships did when it comes to size (even excluding SSBNs for obvious reasons)
Yea sum like the i400 could carry like 3 light bombers in a hanger, would seem very fun, cant wait for submarines specifically ww2 ones.
Any submarine can fire torpedoes sideways with gyro steering. Hopefully this will be implemented with submarines so we dont have to aim with our hull.
Fancy, wonder if thier gonna use the sonar like view we had in the ufo event in 2020, if you went under water in the ufo sonar waves would kinda go out in blue lines around you and the see floor and let you see around you, cant wait for subs, gonna be a new flock of players from wow and else where
The sonar was also in the 1st submarine event with modern subs
M-class was the UK sub with the 12-inch however the 3 out of 4 built would go through some big changes.
M1 no changes sank
M2 removes gun got plane sank
M3 removes gun became mine layer broken up
Spoiler
100 mines going to be fun

M4 not finished
WW1 U-boat 💀 after getting nuked by a cold war anti-sub torpedo
Me in custom with my le brestoises l3 torps and i see a 1930s u boat. ‘_’
Wonder what the beta entry vehicles will be, my guese for france is gonna be the hms vox a British lended sub to france, gaijin wouldnt let france have an indigenous vehicle for its 1st one.
Next to the submarines themselves, I’m personally excited for the possibilities of actual fleet battles as well, with various types of ships being able to fulfill their more realistic tasks.
Like for example Destroyers won’t have to fight Battleships, but can instead protect them by doing ASW.
Maybe this can change the trees where instead of you starting with destroyers, every ship type gets a separate line, and the vessels evolve alongside eachother. Kinda like in the other ship game.
Not saying that that’s what’s going to happen, but it’s just my curious cup of tea
Yes, we had a few cruiser submarine designs. But only the X and M classes made it to ‘service’ (they were more like proof of concept vehicles that were repurposed rather than scrapped).
HMS M1 with the 12",
HMS X1 with 2 x twin 5.2" supercharged turrets.
@Rileyy3437-live Surcouf had to be on the surface to use its twin 203mm guns but it had good attack angles, the hms m1 could shoot its 305mm at periscope depth which is really good for being extra sneaky and helps with survivability, but you had to hull aim it mean move to whole sub to aim the gun, givin its a 305mm youd get one shot off every 30 to 40 secs which means youd have to ammo rack, and someone dodging could very easily just dodge one big shell if thier paying attention, the 203mm had a 3rpm to 2.5rpm so 20-17secs, assuming its gonna get only its sap from the 5.3 heavy cruiser and not its apcbc from the french heavy cruise thats like 6.0 6.3, surcouf gonna be a really good cruiser muncher, and hms m1 gonna snipe ammo on 6.0 6.3 battleships.looks like Hms x1 would be the nice light cruiser eater. All around subs are gonna change some play styles and cause more people to pay attention. Bet you were gonna see people posting getting jumped scared by a torp from a wolfpack or sum when listing to Spotify or yt.
So do we think it’s more likely that submarines have a closed beta with packs or an invitation beta like infantry had?
Don’t give them any ideas!
if it has a beta at all, it would be with packs. That is more common with new trees of existing vehicle types. completely new vehicle types get invitation based beta’s.
I somewhat doubt there’ll be a beta at all with these vehicles, new lines in existing tech trees aren’t usually locked away like that. Unless they’re really stupid enough to make them a third, seperate, tree.
