Submarines - WT Discussion

So this is a list of Submarines that are likely to be added in the next major update from what we have in WTM. DON’T TREAT THIS AS A GUARANTEED LEAK LIST THAT EVERYTHING IN IT WILL BE HUNDRED PERCENT ADDED. Also, I only picked WW2 and early-coldwar subs into the list here (well you don’t want to eat harpoon and guided mk.48 torps in your battleship right). Copypasta of the same model with no difference will not be shown her, and Preumim (in WTM) with notable difference will be shown here.

USA
USS Balao (SS-285), Balao-class submarine
USS Billfish (SS-286), Balao-class submarine (PREMIUM, with additional 102mm cannon)
USS Tang (SS-563), Tang-class submarine

Germany
U-995, Type VII-class submarine (same model as in Battle of Atlantic and todays news)
U-305, Type VII-class submarine (PREMIUM, with additional 88mm Flak gun)
Type XXI-class submarine

USSR
L-3 (1941), Leninets-class submarine (Premium? Researchable L-4 in WTM but the model has no difference)
K-class submarine (Kreiserskaya/Katyusha class)
Pr.641, Foxtrot-class submarine
Pr.613, Whiskey-class submarine

Great Britain
HMS Vampire (P72), V-class submarine
HMS M1, M-class submarines (12-inch/305 mm main cannon, and yeah it’s a submarine)
HMS X1 (2 × twin 5.2-inch/132mm guns, British really love cruiser submarine huh)

Japan
JDS Asashio (SS-562), Asashio-class submarine

Italy
Mi dispiace, niente sottomarino per lei (At least in WTM it is, BTW “Inno dei Sommergibili” was such a good song)

French
Surcouf ( 2 × 8-inch/203 mm guns)

No photos yets for the screencapture in WTM look shitty when compared to the normal WT (I’m just being lazy lol)

You could use the WTM statcard images, like I do in the Unused Assets list.

I mean what Gaijin do and what the Mobile app does is completely different as I said the Mobile game is not an inductor of what’s to come.

Yeah I know, I basically have all those rare submarines in WTM (Billfish, U305, L-3, M1, X1, Asashio, Surcouf, etc.) Just simply too lazy to screen capture them one more time like I previously did in my post. Btw I did checked your unused asset list to help me ensure I did’t leave anything behind, thanks for your comment!

Agree. Still, it’s a good place to have a peek what Dev team have already modeled. Also thanks for your comment.

The very same U-995 which was in the Battle of the Atlantic event, and uses the visual model from Mobile 's Type 7.

There is also the submarine L-13 referenced in the files there, a later subclass ( lol ) w/ a longer hull.

Guess it worked…

Could be assumed though that Gaijin did invest in models and R&D so it could be a indicator of what could come. However it would be more likely we would see WW1 and WW2 subs over Cold War subs from the start.

I mean from the images shown so far it seems they’re going the ww2 direction which I am sure many people are happy about as it means we can get a lot of cool subs for a lot of TT in game.

Give me I-401 and my GE is the snails forever…

I hope when Gaijin gives us the I-400, they should let us choose between an aircraft equipped with an 800kg bomb or one with a torpedo.
It would be absolutely terrible if they just lazily gave us an aircraft with 50kg bombs… That would completely ruin the whole point of this submarine

Cold War will likely come (post war Japan’s first sub was basically a late war sub with some modern tech) But the U-boat is what the people want plus the fact no one wants to get slapped by a 1980s hunter killer sub day one. However Losos would be okay.

This would be great to counter the DDG ships at 5.3.

Every question I asked got answered through riddles. I knew the Italian Navy had subs; now I know again they had something, but the question remains: were they good? I am no naval expert nor an aviator, but a Tanker. I would love to get a human reaction before I ask AI.

Cruiser Subs look cool, thanks!
