I was thinking about it and realized the airship may apply to subs, it can go up and down like a sub so maybe they are testing the controls for that or something

Battle of the Atlantic event also had single-axis buoyancy controls; to me the zeppelin 's controls seem more likely to be derived from the work on submarines than testing them, if there 's any relation between them.

Not playable for sure. Enlisted and Warthunder belong to same company. They wouldnt split their playerbase…

Anyway, these are the controls of subs from Battle of Atlantic. Controls of zepelin are weird and not suitable for subs in my opinion. Submarine is basically airplane flying through water and should have the same controls.

yes but without being controlled directionally with the mouse

That is where my point came from, the zeppelin is basically like a flying submarine and they could be using it to test the control scheme or something,

also guys I’m working on a suggestion for the sh-3 antisubmarine warfare helicopter here: Sikorsky SH-3H/S-61B SeaKing (suggestion draft)

THen I instantly dont like and I hope it wont be implemented with it (if ever lol). Feels weird to control vertical movement with A and D when all games since ever have been using it for left and right. I liked the controls in Atlantic event.

I forgot, how was it controlled in the previous two submarine events?

in the battle of atlantic you would have 2 keybinds to set your depth (one lower, one higher)

In the 2018 april fools i don’t exactly remember, but i think it was more like an aircraft.

The battle of the atlantic one was the best imo. Basically same as ships control, but with additional keybinds for depth

It does. But you have to set your depth aka boyancy just like this current event with the Zeppelin. Submarines don’t fly through water like aircraft at all. They work exactly like ships and just like ships you need to change your boyancy.

Dive Planes on the nose and rudder of Submarines (sometimes on the conning towers) are used to accelerate your descent or ascent rate alongside you changing your boyancy. That is why when changing depths you travel forward or backward to speed the process up. Otherwise you are a massive long tube trying to go up and down and force all the water out the way which is slow.

^This was accurately shown in the Battle Of The Atlantic Event.

The battle of atlantic has basically the same keybind as the silent thunder. But the battle of atlantic use single-axis buoyancy controls instead of the two-axis one that silent thunder use, since last time two-axis buoyancy caused problem–it could literally launch the submarine into space. War thunder mobile’s submarine also use single-axis buoyancy controls. And the Zeppelin could be a mechanic test of the conbined buoyancy and dive planes/rudder controls.

i wish we could see the little (and less ridiculous) brother of Surcouf, the 1500t class Redoutable

11 torpedo launchers for fun (7 of which can be aimed sideways, non reloadable) with a mix of 400 and 550mm torps

I think submarines are coming with the summer update…
First off we have most likely the final submarine testing event in the form of the Zeppelin
In addition to that, Germany just got a proper Sub-Chaser in the tree, most likely in preparation of submarines so they have a proper subchaser that can keep up with the faster submarines

well it’s most likely this year, but to avoid too high expectations i’m going to pretend it’s coming on the December update for now. If that’s earlier that’s bonus

The zeppelin being used as sub test could be a good theory, but i thought they had pretty good control in the atlantic event already (except for the “sub can reach its surface speed at 4m depth” part)

Could be a final “just to be sure” test

They should call the update “Sea Wolves” as a reference to the arcade game “sea wolf”

It won’t be called “Sea Wolves” for two reasons. One, gaijin doesn’t like naming updates after other games, two, the “seawolf” is already a class of US navy nuclear attack submarine and they wouldn’t want to hype people or make them think nuclear attack subs are coming.

I think they’d call it something like “Atlantic sharks” or “frigid/lonely depths”

Grey Wolves

What about:
Whispers of the Abyss
Silent Waters
Beneath the Surface
Into the Depths
Operation Silent Wave
Silent Depths
Submerged Threat
Waves of Annihilation

Just some ideas. Tell me what you think.

Considering that the last 4 word update was “masters of the sea” in 2018, and the last 3 word update was “dance of dragons” in September last year, it’s probably going to be a two word update, three at most. “Beneath the surface” might be it, “into the depths” is another good one, as is “silent depths”.

I can think of a few more myself. “Hunters of the sea”, “ocean sharks”, “hunter killer”, etc.
