‘It would indeed be good if they added submarines; right now, they are only in WTM, which seems inconsistent since the core mechanics and gameplay belong in the PC version of WT. They really should add them, though—people might enjoy the naval mode more, it adds variety, and it could provide further momentum for vehicle modernization.’
Google translate was used so it may not be entirely accurate.
Subs are on the way don’t worry they have stated it was underdevelopment. Though Naval is a bit of a schrodinger’s cat of please add one more thing and I will play it bro.
The major issue with subs is one needs to defeat them to prevent people getting nuked by a WW1 sub with zero counter play. Japanese ships might be able to side step them due to them bolting a sonar set to even there battleships.
It’s just very tiresome to hear the argument of “Gaijin does things badly, so they shouldn’t add anything new to the game.” Whether in the context of submarines or literally any content in the game-- every update people demand that Gaijin stop adding new vehicles and do nothing but bugfixes, for example.
It’s a reductive, zero-sum argument (Gaijin can EITHER fix the game OR add new broken things) and it glosses over all of the things Gaijin does well. If WT was a bad game not worth playing, none of us would be here having this conversation.
So it’s just cynical to the point of derailing things, and this thread is about the possibility and progress of submarines in War Thunder, not boring complaints about Gaijin. There are lots of other threads on the forum for that.
