WT Mobile has had some interesting submarine-related things appear in the files today:

HMS X1 and her 5.2 inch/45 QF Mark I guns showed up, probably for their winter event following the pattern of big-gun subs there
HMS X1 - Wikipedia

They’ve also changed the detection radius and depth of sonar, whose stats are universal across surface ships - 1.5km radius and 50m depth has become 6km radius and 30m depth.
This might be related to a new weapon that has shown up, the RUR-5 ASROC. A number of ships in that game have that weapon, but hidden on the model, since it had been unusable up to this point.
There are text entries which imply it will only be usable against subs, which would be correct to it 's method of operation.

Looking at this crap (link below) “hold the subs” is the best possible decision. Look at that:

Horribble torpedo spam, no counter-strike (by escort ships) possible this way.
Another found on YT: A212 (end XXI century) strikes a spawn of missiles to US IIWW battleship…so pity…

Just found only ONE good of subs here: no more big ships camping after islands.
Playing AB at subs (or play against subs) is a total tragedy.
To be sure I lost hope that subs will be so delicious as Battle of Atlatnic event.

Anyway, I wouldn’t draw any conclusions from WT mobile about how subs, or any vehicle for that matter, will play or perform in the main game.

Most we can gather from WTmobile is that a model exists.

Dont worry, Im pretty sure Gaijin wont add submarines with 112 torpedoes.

Anyway, update is out so we can start coping and hoping for March update.

Hope not.
But when I last played DDs at AB mode there was a spawn AB torpedo, especially from Japanese DDs. After that (till now) I’m avoiding naval game AB mode as much as I can.

not really comparable, wt mobile is arcade

The torps in your gameplay, for example, go faster than 360 km/h, while the fastest guided one on modern subs go 150 km/h, let alone WWII and early cold war ones (fastest WWII torp is type 93. 91 km/h and unguided).

Let’s not even mention other factors like submarine speed or max torpedo capacity

Type 72 mod. 1 can go 120km/h in realistic and 361km/h in arcade

Sometimes the speed isn’t even the one set in the stat card.

for example in the other ship game torp speed is said to be around 50+ knots, but when you do the maths (time to target and distance), some go as fast as some anti tank missiles

IDK if that’s the case for WT mobile, but seing as one torp reaches a 1.5km battleship in 10 seconds (4:58 to 5:08) it means they are at least 1.5x6x60 = 540 km/h

I’m not familiar with torps stat card in WT mobile though.

In the “normal” WT, the time to target is correct however
