They would perfectly work. Just like the Cruiser Submarines with scout aircraft you launch on the surface. The mini-subs if they have weapons, would be a scout submarine you only launch below water not above.
Just like scout aircraft, you can keep your submarine somewhere else and launch the submarine to either have maximum an advanced torpedo strike whilst keeping your submarine safe. Or at minimum just scout out ships and submarines in the area.

Honestly. If they introduce Hydrophone Operator vision like the Radar Operator Screen. Showing you the distance from the submarine, with direction, sound and depending on the submarines crew the range at which you detect what vehicle it is.
That would be absolutely amazing.

In the Silent Thunder event, they had a Sonar mode, kinda comparable to NVD
Only problem with the kind of sonar you’re describing, active sonar, is that it’s really good at giving your position away.

I have been waiting since the addition of naval.
If possible I would like them to implement the option for Aerial ASW strike for Heavy ships where you could call in AI planes to drop charges in the water so Battleship and cruisers alike can have an offensive against Submarines. Something like how we can already call in artillery strikes in Coastal Boats.

That sounds like a cool idea but I would also think them not having that would also be cool because then people would need to work together more. Like destroyers actually escorting the bigger ships and maybe we could have the floatplanes that are getting launched by catapults could just be equipped with depth charges or you could choose their suspended armaments yourself just like in battle stations pacific

I see the possibility in EC but in the current state of naval random battles a DD won’t cut it at top tier as it would get mauled by the enemy before it reaches a Submarine.

That’s true tbh I really hope that one day naval will be this lovely mode with submarines , aircraft carriers and all the other ships in big combined battles but I really don’t wanna go too much off topic with this.
