buff su27sm radar, and r77
radar just need be usabe, and r77 need a good buff, its completly wrong, an cant play with same planes of my level, my r77 didnt kill a guy in 12km in open sky, when in same BR have f15 hiting me 30km away or more…

I stopped playing this aircraft awhile ago once I figured out how garbage it was, went back to the MiG-29SMT for a slightly better experience but still bad, waiting on aircraft like the Su-30SM to be added.

any missile can be notched at 12km away and if they don’t 12km is an easy shot for every fox 3 in the game. the su27 radar dose kinda suck tho, but the r77 is better than the aim 120 in every category other than range learn to close the gap and you can put up pretty good numbers in the su27 with the 20km hmd.

Truly an awful plane. I loved the SU-27S when it came out in Air Superiority, but the SU-27SM is one of the saddest things I have played.
The only “advantage” it has is that it can carry 12 missiles, more than anything else in the game, but that really doesn’t matter when the missiles themselves are below average.
Everything on this thing is below average in fact. The radar is so bad. The flight model is bad. The CM amount is bad, especially considering how close you need to get to use the R-77.
R-77 is quite bad. Neither the range of other missiles nor the agility of the MICA. The worst of both worlds.
I am struggling to think of one good thing about this plane except that it looks very nice.

My AMRAAM missed a guy head on at altitude at 8 km’s because he chaffed.
Yes the range of the AIM-120 i better the R-77.
You can avoid them until the merge and you slap there
For a plane that has to get close it has neither the countermeasure store nor the flight performance to be able to do so.
Do you? I find MICA to be a much better dogfighting missile. Also R-73 is just not that good. And the flight model is holding it back again.

Bruh. At this point. You will die either way. An F-15 won’t survive a merge with a good Su-27 player or a mirage player
Range and speed (you left that out) are pretty much the most important things for deciding engagements, if you force the su27 to go defensive first because you out range him… hes fucked without terrain to help him.
It also means he has less time to get into a proper notch for a given distance like 12km in your example as the missile gets there faster.
And the aspects the R77 is better at, the aim120 is not far behind. Its like those reddit posts where they compare two planes and one has 70 countermeasures and the other 67 and thats one of the list of negatives.
