Russia relies extensively on foreign manufacturing for both military and oil industries. This is the exact pitfall that all Russian industries have including aviation

J15 was relly on su33 to be existed.
J11 was on su27
J-7 on mig19
J-8 on the su-15
Its fair to say that china military before 2018 was 90% based on russian equipment.
