Hi.
I want to buy a premium to grind the soviet or american tech tree faster.
The issue is, that I am a ground main + I got no experience in high and top tier air battles.
I wanna buy the Su 39 or the Phantom 2, but I cant decide.
For me, the aircraft should be easy to learn for beginners, so I can learn how play other high tier jets.

Su-39 is much slower, but it’s also more “user friendly” if you would, it can bomb, it can carry one of the earliest IRCCM missiles, so I would personally pick the Su-39 (I’m actually probably about to buy it myself) the IRCCM missiles are 2 free easy kills, and you can still carry 6x Napalm bombs (3 bases you can destroy)
If you had experience in air, I most certainly would have said the F-4S, but you do not.

Su-39 is very weak in air battles. It’s only recommended for ground. If you want to learn missile thunder, F-4S teaches you the fundamentals and its competitive at its BR.

If you’re only picking between the F-4S and Su-39, got for the F-4.
The matchmaker right now is very forgiving for the phantom, it is reliable in a knife fight and can do a lot of jobs.
The 39 is great for ground RB but stay away from air as you’ll sleep half the time or get cooked the other half ( unless you push headons and fight dummies).
L2P with the phantom, you’ll have a much better time.

It’s just because I’m grinding Russian air, if I wasn’t to; I might have done something different.
Having played neither, only Germany, from the outside it looks as though USA and USSR are pretty even when it comes to air.
If you are wanting to learn top tier Air RB, then I would go with the F4S as you will get far more experience using the SARH missiles and keeping radar lock, than you would with the Su-39 as its a CAS aircraft and would be pretty bad to use in Air RB.
USA also has some sick jets up there.
I know they’re on sale, but I honestly would start with like the F5C. You’ll learn how to fly, flare, use guns, and you won’t have to deal with crazy missiles. If you know nothing about air right now, you are going to STRUGGLE with the F4S. You could go Mig23ML, but its at a high BR, you’ll still have trouble.
Hard nope to the Su-39 for air battles.
F4S will teach you everything you need to know in regards to missiles, radar, and even HMD. It’s not the best jet overall, but it’s consistent for grinding with.
Personally, if you want to grind Russian air, I’d rather go with the Mig-21S for golden eagles and use it to go up the tree and unlock the Mig21 Bis with it. Talisman the Mig 21 Bis, and use it to go to top tier. Either that, or wait for the Mig23 ML to go on sale possibly in December.
If it’s simply a choice between the 2, F4S all day, every day for Air battles.
extremely simple solution, buy the Su-25K. has a much, MUCH better time. And rank 6 is high enough for a premium to also keep some fun factor ( unknown concept in modern WT)

How about the Christian II, I would Like to grind Swedish ground, as I got to rank VI or VIII and stopped because of how long it was taking, is it a good option, or not?
The F-4S is king of premiums for a reason. You can use to for base bombing ( most xp for little effort ) and it can fight with good missiles. The su 39 is very slow. You will be the last one to get to the battle area. In air RB this twill make the grind so much longer for you and cause you a lot of frustration. It will do much better in Sim battles if you are going to go that route.
The Mig 21S R-13-300 would be a much better premium. its at a better BR, and will get you into the fights. The only reason to buy the su-25 K or the su-39 is to add them to your ground RB lineup for CAS.
That one specifically I cannot tell you much about. Does it have a lineup and how many uptiers does it see is the main question. If the former is yes and the latter no, then it’s probably worth getting.
Personally both are a good pick imo, Phantom if you like being a fighter, Su-39 if you want to do CAS. Either way, please don’t be a base bomber. Help your team, both are competent at air-to-air. We have enough useless base bombers. Consider your teammates. <3
su39 is too slow in its br。You can only hope that someone will engage you in a dog fight; if most of your opponents are focused on fleeing, you won’t be able to catch up and make effective attacks.
NOT ANYMORE, R73 at 11.3 with ircm and the ability to carry enough payload to destroy 2 bases in one run, yoh also have the ability to just shrug off missile strikes and gun hits. Also i cant report an f4s being able to fly without a tail the entire match nor have enough turn time to defeat an su 39.
The only reason you buy the su39 is to have a slightly better AGM than the TT version, and the radar for messing around in sim. Its not for grinding air, its awful. R73 on a plane without hmd and its subsonic is a joke. Su24 also powercrept a lot of its usefulness in ground as a CAS option.
These missiles are only unflarable within close range, anyone letting a subsonic get within ~1.5km of them with nose pointing at them because they dont have hmd, AND are not preflaring deserve to die. And you don’t take more napalm than is needed to kill a single base because you get severly reduced rewards for bringing more, and you are NEVER getting to a base at 11.7? in a subsonic anyways lmao.
You want an undertiered subsonic missile slinger look no further than the A-10c with a missile that is actually scary outside of knifefight range, and you get 4 of them instead of 2 lol.
