I think that currently, the AIM-120A/B/C-5 doesn’t perform as well as the MICA and R-77-1 in this situation of large off-axis angles. Considering this, perhaps it would be better to give other nations better Fox3 missiles?

We don’t know 100% afaik, they could be fitted with an upgraded N011m. Several news articles state that the new su30sm2’s from 2024 and 2025 apparently have irbis, but nothing primary.
To be fair with you I think that even with the BARS this thing would still nuke anything that isn’t a Rafale, IRBIS is currently insane we all know it, but that’s not the entire equation.

Early Hornets should’ve been added with something like a MiG-29K, and the Super Hornets (or at least the model we have right now) should’ve been added with the Su-30SM, not the SM2.
27SM doesn’t have Al-41s.

It’s fitted with bars. Me and ron_23 made this argument plenty of times on the su27 thread, and a tech mod (ralin) on ru thread agrees. But gaijin gonna do what gaijin gonna do, the radar should just be upgraded bars with 2x more range instead of irbis, but gaijin decided to interpret upgraded bars means irbis.

i have been trying to explain this to people on other platforms aswell, i be showing them footage from the MOD and things directly from them. Just to get hit back with a no and a link to some random ahh article saying irbis and al-41 on all SM2s, deadass feels like your talking to brick walls sometimes.

I am most certainty not looking forward to getting my shit pushed in by R-27ERs by the notching machine, so I’ll be steering clear of 14.x until this thing raises in BR.

Been a rough time patch for the Russians without a genuinely equivalent aircraft to compete with everything else.
I’d say the Su-27SM and J-11B are pretty even usually, but the J-11B is better >600kmh and the 27SM is better <600kmh.
