It’s so dumb lmao they added the historically dubious su30sm2 just to avoid making a new model.
0° is your nose. If you’re holding a notch you can look up to 240° to your left which is physically impossible. The radar is 250° in total meaning 125° for both left and right side.
They can have a range of 80km without the Seeker buff.
The seeker buff is a joke, that should be the bare minimum for fox 3s micas are still quite easy to notch.
You do understand that because of how strong the irbis is datalink will be much stronger than mica’e seeker ever was
I highly suggest you watch catwerfer’s and migan’s latest videos
I find tbe vast majority of these missiles easy to notch
Yes this is my point mica should be the minimum yet it’s the exception. Notching is wayyyyy too easy
240* = 120* left + 120* right = 240* totally , if the searching coverage buff is implemented then it will change to 125* left + 125* right totally 250*
I’m hoping to see in the first half of 2026:
Su-35S
F-15EX
Rafale F4.2
Latest Chinese flanker
with a slew of next gen ARH being:
AAM-4B
MICA NG EM
R-77M
AIM-120D
PL-15 (Maybe saved for when meteor/R-37M is added instead depending on how they model it)
And of course IIR missiles being proliferated as well (IRIS-T, ASRAAM, MICA-IR, Python 5, AAM-5B)
i dont think they will add R77M
How would they even model it, we know virtually 0 on it besides that it’s dual pulse
Why not? Is it not operational now?
That makes sense. I just don’t understand why it’s implemented rn as 480° total
The PL-15? Gaijin will make something up.
Thank god
yes please

If you look 240 degrees to your left…then you would be looking to your right.
It’s being used because they’re in a war, how far along the testing is it’s completely unknown. We know it has been tested on the field that’s it.
It’s definitely not operational though otherwise we’d have much more than a few pictures and s picture of a wreck
The su-30sm having ±120 ingame is just a bug dont worry. X-ray view says the search zone is only 120 degrees in total, which is ±60 degrees which is what it has in real life.

Wasn’t the R-77 in a similar boat?
Nobody dies in BVR combat in War Thunder, only the unwary and those who don’t defend themselves in time. Do you really think all that power from the IRBIS will change anything? Combat happens at 20-25km, and that helps the missile until it activates its own radar; after that, notching it will be easy, just like with all the others except Mica. The only advantage is having a higher range and helping to notch it, but it’s still a heavy plane. Besides, remove the AESA from the Eurofighters; they haven’t even been put into service in Great Britain and Italy yet, since they also have a higher range. The funniest thing is that all the new planes have higher ranges and limit to radar and nobody was complaining, now incredibly everyone is complaining. All I see here is hypocrisy and nothing more.
