Su-30SM: In Thrust We Trust

I’ll be honest, I stopped playing GRB outside of SRE nowadays because of how bad CAS is. So most of my concern is with ARB

This stance just fails to recognise context.

Su-30SM will struggle in long range BVR joust but thats about it. Once that initial joust has ended and the battle becomes short range BVR or even WVR, the balance of power shifts greatly in favour of the Su-30SM over the F-15E and at the moment, the EFT. Only the Rafale I would say is stronger still.

Aim-9Ms are good for ambushes but pretty poor in a dogfight, especially when R-73 is combined with HMD and R-77s are much better than Aim-120s at shorter ranges, especially in a dogfight and the R-77-1s are better thna them still. Combine with the TVC and the AoA limiter switch, you can pull off some crazy moves that could result in a win that would have resulted in a loss in the Su-27.

Also the Su-30SM has a much better radar than the buggy mess in the EFT or the F-15E.

In small map gamemodes like GRB/GSB, the SU-30 is going to be a powerhouse with both the best AGM in the game and a very good radar with a large number of more than competitive ARH missiles for those ranges. If/when I play top tier GSB, I will be very very cautious of the SU-30SM even in the Typhoon.

TLDR, context is important and the SU-30SM will be a very competitive aircraft this coming major update.

BVR dictates the initial phases of the fight. EFT and F-15E slinging AMRAAMs from space sooner dictates the opposing team going on the defensive and thus poorer position from the start. EFT (Rafale is just no question better) would still be better at WVR because it’s a delta plane and they get good turn rates in general anyways and yes they deserve that. TVC is a gimmick that is more dangerous to use because of how much energy bleed it does and should only be used in emergency (and if your enemy doesn’t capitalize on your low energy state, then they deserve to die)

R-77 with it’s crazy drag while definitely better than the AIM-120 at WVR is still decent enough to pull it’s weight in WVR. Look I get it, R-77-1 is good, definitely an upgrade over the 77.

But this aircraft would be the most mid release of this update.

sounds like a you problem

where is the thrust?

exactly

They can’t even model drag for the Aircraft you expect them to model it for the missile

It isn’t there, hence why “we trusted”

ouch

is r77-1 very different from r77?

on su 30sm 5 kh38 since one slot is occupied by the sighting container

Sorry, we will notify you about the company’s affairs

Bigger booster with 1 second more duration. Can BVR now but good luck with how slow the Su-30 is, also it’s worst vs amraam against notching target (cause drag)

thank you for answering, otherwise I wouldn’t have written you an angry text

THEY ARE LITERALLY COMPARING IT DOESN’T MEAN IT HAS TO BE EXACTLY THE SAME AS SU 27 AND HERE’S SOMETHING ELSE BROTHER IF YOU WANT A LIGHT PLANE IN THE USSR YOU WON’T SEE IT AT THE SUKHOY OKB THERE’S NO F5 SORRY Yes, I know there are no commas

R-77-1 is great at being mediocre all around.
AMRAAM is still on par/better at most ranges.

Well, this is the USSR, what can you do about it

One of the many inaccuracies in the 3D model
