An un gimped AAM-3 would be scary close to P4 levels

Nah the issue is the wing area and wing lift coefficients are wrong, doesn’t produce enough life for the drag induced.
The C5 thruster should also have more boost per the sr engineer of the booster manufacturer the boost only offers “significant thrust increase” over the standard boost/sustain
Right now the 120C5 “boost” only thruster is only ~15% more thrust over the “sustain” thrust of the 120A/B
TBF, the AAM-3 is also better then the R-73 for off boresight in some scenarios if it was accurate.
(Not from near 0 speed launches, of course, but past like 700kph it would turn inside from my testing)

Literally everyone else except Israel, Brazil and USSR: ASRAAM, PL-10, MICA IR, IRIS-T, TC-1, A-Darter (15-25km effective range, better IIR)
sometimes I wonder where people get this number from. Other than mica IR and Asraamm, no ir missile will likely have these effective ranges.
It’s kinda like how r-73 has a 30km max range but in game it’s actual effective range is sub 5 km
shh let the IIR missile have a higher NEZ than any fox3 in game.
Also A-Darter adds into that list.
Never heard of a darter as a long range ir missile, most people say it’s more like an iris-t on steroids for turning ability
Ye, has an operational range of 10km, maximum range of 20km.
Effective range is reduced to 5km when using its 100g turn capability (after doing an over the shoulder shot it can retain 50gs of maneuverability.)
If not doing high off-boresight shots it can maintain 50gs of maneuverability over the the distance of its operational range.
This is according to Denel Dynamics though.

I thought for a second A-Darter was an IR seeker on the R-Darter body, but it isn’t. It’s much lighter than the R-Darter.
Can you show where Denel said it can do 100G? Cause that is absurd numbers.
max range doesn’t mean much honestly, just look at my r-73 example. Also it might just be battery life limitations or something.

Not sure about IRIS-T tbf, but ASRAAM, MICA, bozdogan and A-Darter have airframes to do that.
All missiles have newer, better airframes and are superior to the AIM-9X shit bus, Python 4/5 frontal fins and R-74 that uses R-73 airframe.
It’s the maximum overload for the missile to still be intact while turning. But ye, Denel said 100g structural functional limit, real numba is probably 50.
