Su-30MK2 is not uniquely powerful

The infamous Su-30MK2 premium is known for being “OP” at 13.3.

But what if I told you, that there is a under looked plane with similar loadout at 13.3, based around a very similar airframe? The J-11A.

The difference is that Su-30 has 2x R-77; the same is observed in Su-33 and Su-27 in Soviet air tree.

We have the F-16A ADF sitting in the same BR with 6 missiles AMRAAM missiles; sure, this is relatively small number, but AMRAAMs are way better than R-77; Maybe they could give it Aim-9Ms to make it closer to the 13.0 magic 2 missile bus Mirage 4000.

The main part that made the Su-30MK2 good is not the R-77, an airbrake missile but rather the amount of R-73s. But the same can be said about the Su-33, Su-27, J-11, which are also R-73 missile bus! To say nothing of the Su-34, a R-27ET missile bus, with long range!

i actually agree, j11a is literally a better su30mk2 at the same br. cant believe im agreeing with a tiger tank post,

ur rigth, we pay for it so lets put Aesa radar/Su30sm engines/R77-1 or decrease br to 13.0

In fact, it has the AL31 engines from the Su-30SM; the difference is that it doesn’t have thrust vectoring or 10% emergency thrust.

the issue is that they moved down J11A this update to let them put 30MK at 13.3 instead of 13.7 where both should be

agreed. imo both should be 13.7 quite easily. but if j11a is somehow 13.3 then su30mk2 must be the same br.

totally not like double or more the turning circle

when the only shots that are likely to hit are <10km and you have to actualy put your nose on target to do that with AIM120 while you can just HMD the R77

and you forgot to mention that unlike the F16ADF the SU30MK gets HMD

there are even 2 F16s at 13.7 that dont get HMD for their radar, so no I dont see how 30MK can be 13.3 while those are 13.7

I think a lot of people who are complaining probably just got frustrated because they got killed by it and decides to make a post here out of frustration

better fm and maws. maws makes it so that the defensive suite of the j11a is actually better than the su30mk2. and its lighter.

MAWs isn’t enough of a benefit to make it a higher BR IMO, especially since it’s RWR is so so much worse.
I do agree that its flight performance is better than the Su-30s.

it’s actually the plane i perform best in for red side at top tier as you can see here. I think it’s even more oppressive than the su27sm at 13.7, and that was already the best 13.7 in the game. IMO basically on par with j11b and its at a lower br.

rwr imo is more than good enough for top tier. people overblow how bad spo15 is at top tier. its perfectly fine. spo15 even has 360 degree coverage so its imo even better than some digital rwrs (at least when paired with maws) (looking at you l-150)

I can see you actually havent played with the j-11a, although i think you must have it becuase you have the j11b?
I think if you actually play it, you’ll come to realize how amazing it is.
Even stock grind was quite good for me. Spaded i bring 1 er and 5 r77s. peak loadout

how am i wrong, j-11a is indeed superior to su-30mk2. and since j-11a is 13.3 su30mk2 must also be 13.3. I played most flankers A LOT so I think i probably know what Im talking about at least when it comes to flankers. theyre the best 13.3s and 13.7s in the game, and imo second best 14.3.
I got more than 2000 kills across all flankers

SPO-15 doesn’t really tell you what is causing it to go off, just a direction and the lack of info spoils your overall situational awareness over other planes with actual RWRs, which is a bit of a pain in 16vs16. And in my time playing it MAWS didn’t warn me of a missile I wasn’t already aware of.

and fwiw, no, I did not think the J-11A going down in BR was a good idea either
