Finally spaded the su27 performance wise and it definitely feels a lot better, i shouldn’t have said it is almost the same as stock since test flights do not let you test the aircraft in a real scenario.
Apparently su27 can actually leave many aircraft behind after they try to tail them and do some stuff against mig29s and the heaviest F-15s.
How should I approach enemies of the kind of su30, f-18c late, f-15a, f-16, eurofighter (to list some few) in a dogfight?
You don’t. Dogfighting in a 27 against any of those (except the su30) = death.
In a downtier or 13.3 go high with your 27ER/ETs and take BVR fights, one because you have the best missiles kinematically and two because multipathing really doesn’t work well when missiles come from above. You might run into a few fox 3s but if you learn basic notching you’ll be fine. If people get too close then you’re relying on R73 to get the kill.
In an uptier when everyone and their mother has fox 3s and better planes than yours, it’s going to suck. You’ll just have to try to ambush people, usually I like to fly way out behind my team and then either play cleanup or jump on people who are engaging the furball.
Sounds a bit toooo whimpy whimpy for me. Fly low learn to master the ground keep that nose steady and level come up when boggies within 10km and launch r-27 er, switch to IR mode and use the ET missile in combination with HMD IR mode.
Purely in a dogfight, there’s two things the Flanker is good at. Low speed AOA (2-400kph) and it’s surprisingly good at rating (around 770kph)
I’ve gone against all of those in a few dogfights in custom servers. And while the Flanker can technically beat them, it normally comes down to pilot skill.
If you do alot of dogfighting in the Flanker and go up against some EFT whose only experience is missile spamming, you’ll probably beat em.
If you’re struggling with the Flanker in duels, practice Jinking, Overshoots, and maintaining a closing speed to stay behind your enemy.
of course, r27r alone is a free kill whenever they’re used within range. Let’s not talk about the ER. The T and ET are slightly better than R73s at following enemies through flares. But I don’t have them. I already spaded the planes performance and I still am stuck with r27r, as I will use the plane to duel people.
Most Eurofighter playas i met in custom battle are worse than I was on su27 before learning it (enter the urban legend of the Eurobozo or as I call them Euroshiter Typoop). If they’re not expert I may one circle them and follow the scissor, tho it’s over if they rate.
