SU-27 has objectively a terribad flight model, it can’t even dogfight phantoms. It needs a serious rework, it’s literally impossible to run away from people or dogfight them, it’s literally impossible to nose around to launch missiles (which also happen to be shite, if we talk about r73s which no longer thurst vector nor proxy onto targets while r27ers barely get a critical hit where they used to out-nuke phoenixes). There’s also not a significant difference between stock and spaded. Hell, it can’t even win against the f-18 which also happens to be a shite dogfighter too.

only time i play game currently - just 3 battles in air arcade props, to count as active player for forum.
other - theres no point to play and im away from proper PC.
and even when i play - surely it wont be air rb, at least outside of events/just grind
then if you don’t play anything related to the su27 why do you come in here and freely feel enough of a man to insult me?
why not? Su-27 is still one of best dogfighters after FM fix, 3 majors ago(?).

F-4E literally has a smaller turn radius at mach 0.89 than the su27 even when both planes are on air rb worthy loadouts and fuel capacities.

Why would acceleration matter if you’re stuck at 1370kmh at sea level and 1500 of no exceed airspeed? Besides, it is not like literally everything else accelerates better to say the least.

R73s have very bad boresight pivoting leverage compared to something like aim9m, so even if you are using HMD, the su27’s stiff and waddly flight model will grant your enemies flying away always stay out of the weapon engagement zone.

in an air RB scenario the f-18 will win, because it will most likely be slow enough to nose around and yeet an amraam or an aim9m. But thanks for the tip, i will use it next time.
i know stat shark, it has goated flight envelope sheets, but not like one would think about flight envelopes in a you vs 14 enemies especially when it’s the missiles and not the flight performance what gets to work. I’ve won an Eurofighter in a dogfight before, but that’s just one in a blue moon chances.

Your acceleration is decent, you won’t be outaccelerating something like an F-15A because why tf would you, but its not that bad.
Comparing an R73 and AIM-9M in close range is not something I expect anyone to say… As for the boresight, its ok, and the thing is the R73 will actually pull in.

Welll at least there’s something. ARB scenarios have too many variables to determine one plane coming out on top, such as fuel load, pilot skill, and loadout weight. It could be due to the Su-27s massive arsenal of standoff weapons that you are losing (a fully loaded Su-27 loadout is like 3 tonnes)
Against more than 1 opponent in a furball the Su-27 is lethal, perhaps not as much as the Su-27SM with the 50G R77s, however, due to the R73s and its sheer missile count the Su-27 against multiple enemies is very capable
