SU-24 overtiered in Air RB

Yeah, which is just an ARB problem for everything and less so a Su-24 specific issue. Like trying to get any base kills in the Buc S2B at 10.7 is almost impossible or the Jaguar IS at 11.3

A strike aircraft that can get a base kill is more of an exception to the rule

Youve heard wrong.

Mig 23ML flying with napalm on the belly and 2 R24R are the biggest problem. Honestly the urge to kill fighters that focus on base bombing is very hard lol.

We need restrictions on fighters so that we don’t have skilless parasites being the majority of a team. It was one of the reasons when i was spading the F-5A(G)-40 that i could pull 6 kill games consistently. People play as a bomber and grind to top tier and then when they buy stuff like the J7E or the F5E FCU they are food for an inferior fighter because they have no idea what they are doing or they continue to try and base bomb lmao.

Yup, that is a major issue as well

Eh, theres some truth to it, it has very fast reaction time. Ive found if you wait most people just dont expect you to fire a R60M at .5km which just means they do occasionally get clapped. Not always but compared to 9L which is slower off the rail it does work, just not as well as some would claim.

(I played the Mig 27, Su-17, Su-24, ect ect like this when i ran out of ammo. Mig 27 is the best at it imo and absolutely worth a try at flying if you want a gun fighter mig because that gun is pure sex imo)

From my experience they never manage to pull in when fired THAT close. Id say 700 to 800m is the minimum for frontal aspect shots but i guess that depends on the speed of the launching plane.

Point is, frontal aspect launch is more about luck than calculated move. Seekers FoV is too big so simple flare pop and ever so slightly changing heading is all it takes to defeat them.

Oh absolutely it definitely is luck i womt deny that, gotta hope they aren’t pre-flaring

Which I always do when passing close to the nose of something with an R-60M. Not worth the risk to not pre-flare like mad

Same game, we moved up to 13.7 after and i pulled about 1-2 kills per game because people just aren’t ready for you to be hunting them in the Vark, i fire 9L’s from about 5-6km

I flew back to base like this btw lmao, for real my team should be disappointed in themselves, in no world should i have been in 1st lmao.

Lmao

Id also say its highly BR dependent.

Love me some R-60MKs on Bis SAU, nearly had a stroke when I had to play them on 9.12A (that was back before BOL nerf, during the terror reign of Gripen A).

Very fair, honestly id take R13M1 over R60M for most engagements, R60M choosing between an engine 1 meter in front of it or a flare on the edge of its seeker 10km away it goes for the flare.

Unless its a harrier.

Depends on if i fed the snail recently at that point

no.

Su24 is the best headon plane russia has with its cannons why on earth sling an r60 at 500m in a headon and end up in a mutually assured destruction scenario 80% of the time?

I feel like r60m is only good on airframes that can force opponets to lose enough energy where they cant dodge it rear aspect from super close range, otherwise its complete dogwater. Mig21bis works well, su24 cant really compete in that regard.

Id trade all my r60m for aim9j in a heartbeat, range lets you get a lot of kills on people not expecting it, hard to not notice somone 2km from you.

If they ever give us ARB without nametags and missile diamonds the r60 would be a MUCH better missile, but so would every other IR missile just to not as great an extent as the r60 would benefit.

Fire R60 while shooting guns, you’re gonna die to something eventually might as well use everything lol.

Ya, ive been trying to get better at ARB and that means avoiding suicidal headons. The range where r60 is a guarenteed kill in a headon is also the range where you are extremely likely to be unable to dodge a vulcan volley to the face.
