It’s a Tactical bomber equipped with Karpaty EW and 96 Large-Caliber CM. get 4 ZB500, 4R60M, go with 28ish minute fuel, and full send your plane to the 2 bases around.
Dogfight as last resource and use your goddamn MAWS.
Repeat similar strategy with SU-17M4, except when near furball you turn on Periodic countermeasure release, set it at 10 seconds with 0.5 seconds interval. Half your problem is basically solved.
Turn your MAW slaving off. keep that thing to tracking missile launch only and use periodic CM release to manually defend against missile. do your own job.
and this is the exact same with Aim-9L on aircraft like the Tornado. Especially if its vs a large calibre flare such as that dropped by a Mig-23 or Su-24.
Though i’ve heard that firing R-60M at close range in front aspect is rather deadly
Your rewards per base is basically cut in half if you bring 4. There is no reason ever to bring more than 1000kg of napalm ever, it slows you down significantly when you already have a bad time base racing, and again, try it out if you dont believe me but bring 4 and see what you get per base vs bringing only 2.
Okay tbf Su-24 is in a rough spot because its so…slow… like its horrible, you normally won’t get to a base, so you’re forced to play as a fighter in order to get any progress, i think i have a positive KD. Compared for the 11.7 BR the F111F stock was just the most mind numbing watch vids on my phone and get 3 kills gameplay after bombing a base. I think the Su-24 and other bombers would be better if fighters couldn’t take their primary role from them.
Yeah, which is just an ARB problem for everything and less so a Su-24 specific issue. Like trying to get any base kills in the Buc S2B at 10.7 is almost impossible or the Jaguar IS at 11.3
A strike aircraft that can get a base kill is more of an exception to the rule
Mig 23ML flying with napalm on the belly and 2 R24R are the biggest problem. Honestly the urge to kill fighters that focus on base bombing is very hard lol.
We need restrictions on fighters so that we don’t have skilless parasites being the majority of a team. It was one of the reasons when i was spading the F-5A(G)-40 that i could pull 6 kill games consistently. People play as a bomber and grind to top tier and then when they buy stuff like the J7E or the F5E FCU they are food for an inferior fighter because they have no idea what they are doing or they continue to try and base bomb lmao.
Eh, theres some truth to it, it has very fast reaction time. Ive found if you wait most people just dont expect you to fire a R60M at .5km which just means they do occasionally get clapped. Not always but compared to 9L which is slower off the rail it does work, just not as well as some would claim.
(I played the Mig 27, Su-17, Su-24, ect ect like this when i ran out of ammo. Mig 27 is the best at it imo and absolutely worth a try at flying if you want a gun fighter mig because that gun is pure sex imo)
From my experience they never manage to pull in when fired THAT close. Id say 700 to 800m is the minimum for frontal aspect shots but i guess that depends on the speed of the launching plane.
Point is, frontal aspect launch is more about luck than calculated move. Seekers FoV is too big so simple flare pop and ever so slightly changing heading is all it takes to defeat them.
Same game, we moved up to 13.7 after and i pulled about 1-2 kills per game because people just aren’t ready for you to be hunting them in the Vark, i fire 9L’s from about 5-6km
I flew back to base like this btw lmao, for real my team should be disappointed in themselves, in no world should i have been in 1st lmao.
